My gear, at this moment, is not something special. I have just bought a Canon eos 400d with 18-55 lens. I also have a stand for the camera. Do you have something for me, or should I just do some research on the internet?

Hey, for portraits I'd definitely recommend the 50mm 1.8, its about $100 and will do wonders compared to the 18-55. Natural light is best, overcast even light.

Haha, alright, though the 17-55 is by far not a great lens to really work with for portraits unless you are going for snaps. Can still learn a lot with lighting though.

I would really like a 50mm f/1.8. It is also quite cheap. Do you use flash when you are on a shoot? Or a you just using the sunlight as your light source?

I just use the natural light. You won`t ever regret the lens. Changed my photography forever.

But if my mother ain't me one, my 'band' is having a couple of gigs in the next month or so, so I will proably be able to pull it of.
Actually, I got to take some pictures of my girlfriend the other day, where I had the sun coming in from a window. I think it was some nice pictures (first 'real' pictures with the new cam). I was quite satisfied with it
But I am getting that lens I guess. Thank you for taking some time chatting with me.

So how about that hockey game the other day... mwah! Just messing with you. So it looks like the ladies will be facing off in a couple of days. I really do love to see the US doing well at hockey and I'm very happy for them, but secretly I wouldn't mind seeing Canada win either. Shhh! Don't tell anybody I said that! I really love watching the Olympics! I keep trying to catch up if I miss anything. Canada is doing awesome with Curling. I've watched several of their games.

What hockey game? I have mainly just been watching hockey, but even more so the figure skating and dancing. Canada just beat the US in that! GOLD and the US silver. Funny, there is a curling rink about three minutes from my house, ice rink too. I am more Canadian than I thought.

Haha! Yeah, I did see that! They sure did. It was really awesome. The ice dancing has been very good. I loved how the audience was singing the Canadian national anthem during curling one of the nights I was watching. It's usually fairly quiet or cheering here and there with the curling, but they were really into it! Haha! Awesome, I want to play curling! There is an ice rink close to here too, but I haven't been there since I was little.
