Ah, well with portraits, if you want a clean and fresh look, I suggest taking the photos outside. Sunlight is the best lighting possible. Artificial lighting is never as good.

With scenery, you want to make sure you go out to photograph at good times of the day. Earlier morning and sunset are nice for landscapes. I usually go out around 7:30 AM or 5:30 PM. You'll want to gauge how it works for you though, I don't know what the scenery and daylight is like there.

Experimenting with light in your photography will do wonders for you. I experiment with my lighting all the time.

Also experiment with angles, it'll open your mind up to new ideas and you'll learn different ways to picture the desired result and create it.

If you want to work with emotional portraits, it requires a lot of focus on the face and a model who knows how to hold their mouth and control body language.

I have a Canon Powershot model camera. I have nothing against my own camera, it serves me well, I just love Nikon's. x]
I bought my Canon for 200 dollars a bit over a year ago.

I Loved that thing to it was such a shame, but thats in the past.

I'm currently saving up for a nikcon d3000 its pretty nice and it works quite well according to a few of my friends.

Thank you a lot for the advice. It most likely would have to be at sunset for me though because its mostly still raining at 7:30 in the morning X3 Thank you so much though, I;m currently trying to get good enough to wear I can enter a photo for pride '10 this year its been a big deal for a long time for me, but im babbling now so thank you again.

Luckyyyy. I want to upgrade my camera, but I don't have the funds right now. One model I liked was 600 dollars so I knew it was out of the question.

Yes atleast then the rain shall be no more hoefully if I hope that camera has good night resolution because I have the best place to take photos of the stars and moon.

Yep of course its LBGT! They have a photo contest at pride and the winner gets 1000 dollars. Which currently I could really use, because I live in a house full of struggling artist, photoagrapher, models and actors and I have to pay my own rent and I would like to keep my phone and my room.

Your living situation sounds stressful to say the least. I still live at home, due to social anxiety problems. It makes getting a job and going out on my own difficult. I am trying to work on it, though.

Yeah I dont think they do it many places do this but it would be very good money but it is stressful, I mean I have known someone of these people sense like the 3rd grade but when you put a bunch of struggling artist in one house, getting by on ramen noodles and amp it makes life a little diffucult. Plus the fact that I am only 16 doesnt help at all in my sitauation.

I think I would die with out my phone and my room, also maybe my ipod XD

Yeah, I would think so. Not only financially but emotionally. With a lot of artistic people together, I'd think tempers might flare now and then.

At least ramen tastes good. We used to get by on that and pasta for meals. Pasta & rice = cheap.

Yeah, it must be hard for you to find work. So many places want someone who is 18 or older.

Oh yes, tempers flare In fact world war 3 is going on down stairs in the studio. I have locked myself into my room and am blasting my music. Ramen is amazing XD and rice is amazingly cheap and you can cook a lot at once!

Finding work sucks ass. I have been trying sense i got kicked out of my house and I have only gotten a handful of my painting, drawing and photos sold. It trully sucks.

Yes music good. I also could not part with any of my insterments.
