I never turn away from something new I wish to try but "isn't my style, changing and evolving is part of the fun.

I just wanna say that I'm really glad that I accidently more or less found your page, because as I looked at your drawings the first thought I had in mind was that your style is really unique. :3
In my opinion, you give with your special style the whole drawings a certain movement which immediatly catched my eyes. 
I also had a look at your first drawings and I must admit that your improvement is kind of reeeeeeaaally big! 
But everyone starts at the bottom, right? I hope that I'll achieve such skills somwhere in the future too. >w<

Sometimes the process is so painfully slow that I doubt my ability to improve. We all have these moments, I guess. But I keep struggling, and heartfelt messages like yours make me push my limits, so I can give back something worthy the kind words.

Believe me, I completely understand. And it's no trouble at all--I really think you have amazing talent; and not enough talented people get told that, so it needed saying. ^^ I have felt very similar frustrations with my own learning process, but it's good to have people that keep you motivated in your own work. Personally, I've had a really hard time finding a style I like. I'm such a perfectionist that my pictures take forever. xD But yes, I suppose we all have our moments as artists that make the journey difficult. 

Anyway, keep up with it, even when you get frustrated. I really think you've got something in your style that is unique and beautiful, and I'd love to see more from you in the future!

It has been a long while since I stopped believing in "talent". You have no idea of how utterly bad I once was—I'm not exaggerating. I can't think of a single artist I love that wasn't bad once in their lives either. It's a silly word that implies something that can't be achieved through work, and that's not how art works. Don't you realize you share the same secret talent that I and all the other artists have? It's the persistence!  

Don't worry about finding a style. Style, if anything, works the other way around: it finds you. Paint what you wish (or what you need, if it's a commission). Follow your heart, have fun mixing stuff. People say they like my style, but honestly I don't think I have one. I don't feel the need to follow a set of guidelines nor to keep my art concise, I do whatever I wish. The personal style is a set of characteristics that start to repeat themselves in your work merely because you like them. You don't give them much thought, they simply happen. Otherwise you'll be imposing restrictions on your work that won't help you, and if you're learning they'll even sabotage you by keeping you from trying new things.

Relax, enjoy the ride, and thanks again for the words.

That is honestly some of the best advice I have ever been given. Thank you very much for the encouragement, and kind words. I know art of any form can be a struggle, but it is nice to see others overcoming their own struggles and showing that you can become the artist you want to by simply creating and never giving up. The more I create, the more I understand that my style finds itself, like you said. ^^ I was definitely setting restrictions on myself before--of what I thought I should be, or for what I thought others wanted me to be. But I'm finally learning to just let it go and paint whatever it is I want to create. And let my art speak for itself. 

Thank you, truly. :3 You've given me much to think about in recent months, and it has really helped me find more enjoyment in what I do and what I create. 

You are a great inspiration to artists, so keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what other pieces you create.

It makes me truly happy to hear it was helpful in any way! It took me a while to figure out and accept this, and I've seen a great deal of artists getting stuck in a loop because they couldn't free themselves of these imaginary restrictions.
