ehm, wacom bamboos are quite value for money, but the pressure sensitivity not very good. Kind of like your current one, but abit better.
Cintiqs are like your tablet, as in, you can see the graphics on the tablet itself, but still need to hook up to the computer cuz it's just a pressure sensitive screen on its own.
Intuos is like the more advanced version of the bamboo. the pressure sensitivity is like wah damn good. But it's ex. Like 400+ for small ones. And i use intuos 4.
And damn I'm wasting my life in jjc because SA is too far and i missed ac cuz of the cop drop. FFFFFFUUUU-
