Hey, I just overflew the fashion page and saw it. I'm a huge fan of fashion and your picture looked like I could need it as a inspiration someday. Also I liked the model, she looked really natural :]
You're new here, too?

Fashion Page? Where is that located? I'd really like to see it.
That sounds great I'll be posting my tearsheet for that same image early July, so everyone can see it in Equinimity Magazine
She's a good model, and I'll be working with her again this fall, so I'll let you know when I post more from here

I was on DA from 2007 to 2008. Its been over a year since I've been here, and so many things are different! lol
I have to figure almost everything out over again.
My page was [link]

Uhm it's the info you gave while submitting your art, the second file. And this works also when somebody searches specific arts. But you may already know it, I guess I put it badly into words.

"Equinimity Magazine"? What's that?
Yeah, I like her look and she's not skinny like other models use to be.

Hey, how you came from drawing to photographing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MixedArtist In reply to 4M3 [2010-06-29 18:18:45 +0000 UTC]

Okay. I know what you mean, and remember now lol
You put it well Nothing to worry about, okay?

Equinimity Magazine is a lifestyle wellness magazine, and they're finishing up their third issue. They're actually printing, and it'll be released on June 30th.
As of right now, its a local magazine throughout the Dallas Metroplex (in Texas)

Actually I still draw. I do concept art, and apparel design.
My father had issues with bills, so I worked at SuperTarget(grocery store), and got a job at Lifetouch (Portrait Studios)
The poses slowly became more stagnant, and I eventually began doing photoshoots outside the studio. Shortly after I photographed a week of fashion shows, and I was hooked on fashion lol
I don't know if you read my journal or not, but I'm not home.
I'm in San Marcos, Texas right now, so I can't post my artwork the way I want to, so I'll be posting some line art once I get home.
I didn't bring my wacom tablet, so I can't draw digitally like I want to right now either lol

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4M3 In reply to MixedArtist [2010-06-29 19:11:46 +0000 UTC]

Yep

Is this a free job or do you work for them?

Apparel design is something like fashion design, isn't it? If I could choose a job I would like to be a fashion illustrator :].
Fashion shows - that sounds kinda amazing, I would love to be on a fashion show, must be really interesting!
Oh ... no, but I know it, now .
I'm curious about your artwork, I had a look at your old account and wonder how you have developed. You draw digitally? I've got a wacom tablet, too, but I'm unskillful with it. I prefer drawing with traditional mediums.

MixedArtist In reply to 4M3 [2010-06-29 19:24:01 +0000 UTC]

I work for them I was supposed to photographing their magazine fair June 30, but I'm not home.
Apparel design is considered fashion design, but I'm teaching myself how to sew as well, so that's a big part of it to.
Fashion illustration is fun! Especially if they have that throughout a fashion show.
Fashion shows are very fun. I'm apart of about 3 every month now. Have you ever been to one?
My skill in traditional art has improved greatly. For me, coloring is easy now, but I have to get better about shadows, and contrast myself.
I do like to draw digitally though
Its fun. You just have to practice often.
How often do you practice drawing digitally?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4M3 In reply to MixedArtist [2010-06-29 20:19:12 +0000 UTC]

So you can't do your job because you aren't home? Or did I missunderstand someting?
What's the meaning of "sew"?
They present their illustrations throughout a fashion show? So the programm isn't only made up by models presentating new colections. No, I'ver never benn to one, yet. At the moment I still go to school and I never discovered something that indicates something like that. (But this must depend on the rural place where I live).

That's great. Yes, shadows and contrast are also things I have to improve.
Not often, my eyes hurt if I do it more than half a hour. Even though I don't have any eye problems. I guess I overstrain my eyes, when I'm to fixed on the display.

MixedArtist In reply to 4M3 [2010-06-29 20:46:17 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't originally my job to photograph this event, but the photographer the owner originally scheduled for it is unable to do it now. I just wanted to do it lol
Sewing is the process of stitching fabrics together to make the actual clothing item. Like stitching together shirts, pants, purses, etc

Illustrations are hardly ever done in a fashion show. Its rather rare actually.
What area in Germany do you currently live in? Have you ever looked up any shows in your area?

I know what you mean. I used to be like that, but I've been drawing since the age of 3. I takes about 8 hours before it starts to affect my eyes.

4M3 In reply to MixedArtist [2010-06-29 21:12:02 +0000 UTC]

That's good, you use every oportunity that is offered. :]
Ahh, just like dressing up, just a good deal more professional.

How are they presentated. With projectors?
Uhm ... Baden-WΓΌrttemberg is in the South-East and the area I live in is in the South-Middle of BW.

Yeah, I draw since the kindergarten, too. But I didn't develop a resistance against that xD~.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MixedArtist In reply to 4M3 [2010-06-29 22:06:35 +0000 UTC]

I love to take every opportunity I can

Its not "Presentated", its "Presented".
Its stems from the word "Present", and you only add "-ed" to make it past tense.
The illustrations are presented with projectors though.Sometimes in Comp Card form because of the size of the projection.
Its a lot quicker than having everything on posters.
A Comp Card is a composition card with multiple images in one set as one full image.

First you should probably look up fashion shows in Germany. I've only ever heard of one being there.

What were the first things that really caught your eye when you first started drawing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4M3 In reply to MixedArtist [2010-06-30 17:56:40 +0000 UTC]

Oh ... okay, I thought it would be "presentate" because of "presentation". xD
It's also better to present (hah! not presentate :'D), isn't it?

I've never heard of fashion shows in my area and I've got no car yet. Maybe I'll try to find a work. I'm quite sure that in "Berlin" there are fashions shows but it's about 1000 kilometres away from where I live, a huge distance.

I've always been focused on humans. I never tried to draw animals or landscapes ( I only draw animals and landscapes as a background :'D). I love the different types of people, the story behind them. Someday I want to be able to tell stories with only one picture. :]
What caught your eye when you first started drawing?

Everytime I wrote you I forgot to ask the time it is where you are.
It's 20 o'clock here.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MixedArtist In reply to 4M3 [2010-06-30 18:12:38 +0000 UTC]

Okay lol All you have to remember is that it stems from "present".
Its definitely better to present, because the models can move around in the designs after the show and talk to people, so people can get a better look at the outfits, and maybe even bid on them depending on what type of show you're going to.

Wow. Fashion shows are quite a distance from you. That's true though. Their are fashion shows in Berlin. I'd like to travel there someday.

That sounds great I'll definitely have to watch you to follow your improvement then
What caught my eye when I first started drawing was fantasy characters.
You should know with Final Fantasy as your favorite game lol
Have you seen the sketches of their characters? Their great to look at!

Right now its 1:10pm here.
What's 20 o'clock? Did you mean 2pm/am?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4M3 In reply to MixedArtist [2010-06-30 20:29:10 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I used the wrong infinitive D:
They sometimes sell the outfits at the shows? How much do the people bet?

Yes, but maybe there are some in Stuttgart that's at least just 40-50 kilometres away.
I want to go to Berlin someday, too. In fact I want to visit the nord of Germany, because the mentality is different between South and North. I want to experience the other Germany .

If I ever achieve my aim. >__< It's an ambitious aim.
Yeah, they great, too. They have to capture the whole character in a sketches, that's was impresses me the most. Also the style of Final Fantasy sketches is really amazing!

Yes, that's what I meant. I had learnt 20 o'clock in school before we learnt pm/am. I'm sure it's correct, but it may be British.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MixedArtist In reply to 4M3 [2010-07-21 21:25:10 +0000 UTC]

It just depends on the type of show you go too.
People bet from 50 all the way up to $10,000 for some outfits and dresses.
Its interesting to see how much people are willing to pay for unique clothing.

I hope you reach the other side of Germany then.
Then you can tell me about it

I know what you mean. I do hope to be apart of the gaming, or movie industry. I'd love to work for Square Enix. What are some of the main companies you'd like to work for?

Your time probably is right lol, but it certainly isn't something I've heard before.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

4M3 In reply to MixedArtist [2010-07-22 21:13:53 +0000 UTC]

Wuuuuh! I pay at the utmost 50 € for a top that really catches me. Today I went shopping with one of my best friends and I saw this epic dress for 40 € and I really wanted to buy it but I had no money left for this month so I begged my mother to donate me the money I need >__
Yeah, it would be really nice. But it's something of that I'm quite sure that it'll happens someday.

Oh yeah, that would be nice. But I would love to do the game stories ... I'm more a writer than a drawer, since my childhoof I have dreamt of bringing out a book someday ... kinda weird, isn't it?

I appears funny to me, but it doesn't surprises me because I already know that we learn more the British English. :]
