The earth is our home, we should all care about it and want to do whatever we can to help solve problems in it. I could spend this journal explaining to you about global warming, dying polar bears, and the production of harmful chemicals and plastics but we already know about these things. The problem here is that we spend so much of our time educating the public about the problems (which, -don't get me wrong- is a good thing) but we forget to mention everyday solutions to these problems.

I'm trying to make a character selection screen that's controlled by keyboard. I don't understand coding all that much. I'm also using flash pro with action script 3.0. I'm wondering if you know what to do and can help me out a bit

This sounds a like a really basic problem that you can simply search online, googling something like "keyboard control tutorials for AS3" or something. It is kinda like asking how to paint trees in Paint.
Basically, you need to add an event listener to the Stage, and look for specific key codes. But I won't lie to you, getting stuck on something this, makes me think you are perhaps trying to do something that is out of your league right now.

You will probably have much easier time with something like Gamemaker, or RPGmaker depending on what you're trying to make.
Anyway, yeah good luck.
If you gonna stick with Flash, feel free to send me a private message if you get stuck on something specific, something you can't google.
Even professional use google all the time, googling information is the number 1 skill to have if you want to be serious about programming.
