Really getting into working with zbrush lately. Difficult thing to get to grips with though haha

Im actually a 3D environment artist for a games studio. I just do the Zbrush stuff in my spare time. Hopefully will be able to transition into it full time some day It takes a while to get to grips with the software in general, I still feel I have only touched the surface with Zbrush.

To be honest, the IMFX ones are the only ones I've ever entered so far, but I found one for the movie 9 where you design a character for it. It's open for Canadians (first and only time I've ever seen a contest for canadians only, lol).

huh? i got invited to do that challenge aswell. looked good, but i dont have time to do that atm. hopefully ill get time while im at uni though, i was only doing the challenges in the summer to keep me busy and so i dont get rusty.
what type of thing you thinking of doing for that "9" contest?

I am having a horrible time with it, although to be fair I haven't really sat down and attacked it. I've been toying with different robot animal ideas (insects, reptiles and a few others) that are basically hunting down the sack-robot things. I also came up with some character ideas as well. I wanted to keep it within the context of the movie. I just can't seem to visualize anything solid for it yet. I hope to sit down tomorrow and get something I can develope.

yer, when i saw it i though WOAH now, the monsters from the trailer look very complex and stylized, i like the ammount of sharp and intricate pieces of metal they had though, made them look very menacing
i thought i might give it a miss lol

The movie was VERY cool. I liked the use of organic objects (such as the cat skull and the bird skull helmet). Those were actually my favorite props aside from the scissor and knife swords. The whole time I was watching it I was thinking this would make an awesome rpg.
