Here's the intro theme:
www.youtube.com/watch?time_con…
The show might not be appealing to you considering it might have been tailored to a younger demographic (kids probably), but I find interesting that the characters jump from scene to scene from what it appears to be panels from a comic book.

I played the intro 6 or 7 times ^^ That's gonna be a good (and only) entertainement I think. But yeah the show seems to appeal to younger people, as Disney do everytime...

To be fair, a lot of modern cartoons are usually well written. Hopefully this one will be enjoyable.
The internet is pretty vocal when it comes to good or bad shows too nowadays. If it's good, a lot of people are going to be talking about it Either way it's nice to see Scrooge Mcduck and his adventure return for a new generation to enjoy.

Thanks that's very nice to think to warn me but I'm NOT a fan of Ducktales I'm a fan of Carl Barks and Don Rosa, which is not the same thing (at all). The weakness and the strenght of those characters are that hundreds of people used them, but that don't mean I like every versions. But thank you very much

I remembered you saying you had no appreciation for the previous Ducktales animation, so I decided to used the words "Fan of Scrooge Mcduck" instead of "Fan of Ducktales". I thought you felt appreciation for the character of McDuck itself, and not only for the artists Carl Barks and Don Rosa, So I probably got it wrong.
I knew you didn't like Ducktales to begin with, and I doubted you were going to watch a single episode of it. However, I thought that a minute and a half video was enough for you to take a look at the character design and animation, in case you were curious about how Scrooge McDuck looked in this new version.
I liked the moment in the trailer were the kids told him "You used to be a big deal" and he looked at himself in the reflection like he was remembering the old adventures (Like the ones he probably had in the classic comics), probably hinting that this happened after his original adventures. (I wouldn't be able to tell myself since I don't know much about the classics)
I guess my previous comment lacked details about my true intentions, sorry if it sounded like I was calling you a fan of Ducktales

Aaros93 In reply to LinkerArts [2017-03-05 09:31:22 +0000 UTC]
Don't worry I understood what you meant. Yeah the trailer gave me the impression that they gonna mix ducktales (there is Launchpad McQuack) and the past of Scrooge McDuck as Barks and Rosa defined it, which is better than just "Ducktales" to me. I think it's gonna be fun and a good entertainment.

And I also understand your feelings. I used to be a huge fan of Garfield because of the animated shorts from the 80's, but I don't like any other version of the character, it doesn't carry the same charm for me.
You'll be able to see the difference in styles on this picture:
images.mentalfloss.com/sites/d…
The live action movie from the 2000's was in fact so bad that it almost made hate the character all together, Just look a this atrocity:
www.cinemacats.com/wp-content/…
s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/o…
I've genuinely lost hope that they would be able to do something that gets my attention anymore. Unless they make an animated movie with a really really good script and a style that evokes the classics. Similar to what they did with the new Smurfs movie:
cdn2-www.comingsoon.net/assets…
inside-it.ro/wp-content/upload…
www.google.com.sv/imgres?imgur…
Compared to the ugly previous version:

But I'll make an opinion about it only if it ever happens.

I share your opinion about the movie, but it's just the classic scenaristic way of doing. They take the more basic informations about the characters (a big ginger cat who likes lasagna or little blue creatures) and take huge liberties with the rest. That's really frustrating, I agree

I remember a really emotional special where Garfield went back to the place he was born looking for his mother, remembering bits of his childhood in the process.
I would need to watch it again to tell if it was really good, but as far as I remember, it was really interesting.
The point being, it made a good and lasting impression on me. As every well created story driven media should.

As long as the story is timeless enough. Sometimes you can almost feel when something is going to quickly become a product of its time.

Indeed. The first thing I noticed was how close they looked to the designs you've drawn on your gallery, mainly the color palette. Donald Wearing a strong black shirt while Scrooge wears an intense red shirt with a Black hat.
And also the way they drew the light over their pupils, but you probably noticed all of that since you're very familiar with the old designs.
www.geocities.ws/s_ng_99/DRmin…
static1.comicvine.com/uploads/…
That's why the first thing that came to my mind was to show it to you to listen to your impressions. I think it's interesting that they went back to the old designs to look for inspiration for this new version.
They should take advantage of animated show and re-release the classic comics as a compilation, just so kids these days have the chance to read them as well. It would sure look great in contrast to all the computer generated comics nowadays... Or maybe there's already a compilation out there and I'm just not familiar with it if that's the case, forget what I said.

Aaros93 In reply to LinkerArts [2017-03-05 18:11:00 +0000 UTC]
Well I think in countries like Norway, Finland or Germany, they have that sort of compilations. In France we have regular magazines with both Barks and Rosa's stories like this serie img.bd-sanctuary.com/cs/big/pi… but we also have some Italian stuff, like DoubleDuck, which is, like you said a "computer generated serie", so there is a huge difference.
So, yeah, you can cleary see the Barks references in the trailer (the Yukon Scrooge on the wall for example), and even the Rosa references, because it's like the last chapter of "The life and Times of Scrooge McDuck", when Scrooge encounters for the first time his nephews and they made him recover his pleasure of adventure ("you used to be a big deal"), except that instead to live "Barks adventures" from this moment, they will live "Ducktales adventures". It's really a fusion beetween those 2 universes, and that's better than just Ducktales to me.

I'm glad you found something interesting to see in the trailer
The main difference I notice from digital artworks compared to others are the textures. I kinda also like the way the old comics look, like when the white colors of the page start to go a bit yellow.
www.pvv.ntnu.no/~arnej/scan/du…
As well as the details, but that can also be achieved with computers if the artist is good enough
facts.be/app/uploads/Don-Rosa-…
I even like that little effect when the colors are not aligned with the outlines, but this is obviously the result of the printing process.

Funny enough, one of my first experiences with Scrooge McDuck came from the videogame Ducktales 2 for the gameboy:
gamefaqs.akamaized.net/screens…
Interestingly enough for the nintendo version, they went for his red and black color palette, even when the box art depicts Scrooge with his Ducktales outfit:
r.mprd.se/fup/up/55361-Duck_Ta…
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…
Recently they made a new version of that game and redesigned the characters to look like the original Ducktales version:
studioblu3.files.wordpress.com…
Hopefully I'm not boring you with all of this, I just thought it would be interesting to show you some of the many versions of a character you've known for so long, just in case you didn't saw them before
