No one says you can't
I highly suggest getting a drawing tablet though. The first picture I did digitally I made the mistake of using a mouse -_- it took sooooo long to complete it that it almost wasn't worth the effort. A tablet was like a dream afterwards. Now if you don't have the money or something, a mouse is perfectly doable, but I don't think it was really worth it. I've seen digital artists on DA who only use a mouse though and theyre just fine.
Anyways, you'd probably be really good at digital since you already have such a great sense of color (that was my biggest learning curve). It takes a little while to get used to digital drawing but its worth it

haha ive done digital before but like you said, it takes forever!!!!so i dont really do digital. id like a tabet to get started since drawing programs gives you so many resources and the ability to fix errors and such haha. ive always wanted to draw fictional landscapes and such which would seem easier doing in a tablet.
