thank you for the fav, and welcome to DA! Looks like you've had a wonderful time on your travels, I love australia and africa too ^-^ I've only done work on the big herbivores in africa though, the rhinos and giraffes/zebras/gazelles etc, would love to work with lions and cheetahs some day where did you see the humpbacks in australia? I've worked with them last year off Queensland, near noosa heads. Anyway thanks again!

Hi, np and thank you! I worked with lions and cheetas and loads of other animals in Namibia! Been there twice, wonderful place! Def going back again. I saw the humpbacks from a boat just off the coast of Sydney, it was only a days trip - would love to work with Humpbacks, did you volunteer or what ? Been to noosa, but we didnt go whale watching It was too early in the season.

wow I would love to go to Namibia, I did all my work in south africa and didn't have time to go anywhere else >.< oh well one day mebbe. When I worked with the aussie humpbacks I was a voluenteer scientist working for the university of queensland, but I've also worked with humpbacks in america for 4 months as a research assistant

Yupp, it was 'vollie' work ^^, @Harnas Wildlife Foundation. My favorite place in the whole world
I see your studying biology (zoology)? Thats awesome, I wanted to do that myself, but I havent yet found out what to study - Might do a two years course of animal welfare/care next fall. Then we'll see
Anyway, you have some really great pictures of the whales. I didnt get to see them jump much so have no photos of it I wasnt fast enough

yeah getting good breaching shots is tough, I spent 5 months with humpbacks and I've got like... 4 good breaching pictures! They are too quick >.<
Animal welfare is a good choice, but can be tough on you (you have to deal with what happens when people don't adhere to animal welfare laws/guidelines), I spent a year working for the UK government's animal welfare team, protecting zoo/farm/lab/wild animals in the UK from inhumane treatment ^-^ but I'm now doing a PhD to become a research zoologist. Good luck with it!
