You're welcome! And I'm being honest here, your photos show that you have an idea, a vision, as well as an eye for 'the special' of a particular scene. (The vision may even reveal itself to the consciousness *after* the shot has been taken, but it has to be there all along.)
When you have that ability, the most important thing is to keep doing it, and, if you feel like it, mix it up and experiment with something different every now and then. That way you may acquire both great skills and photographs you never even knew you were capable of!
Photography is something I have been neglecting for a while now, sadly, so this may sound strange coming from me. x)
Thanks! It's about patience, sure, but I'd say it's just as much about being willing to take a gamble. When you're photographing animals, wild and domestic ones alike, you have no control over their pose or expression - or even the lighting, when shooting outdoors. So you should get the most out of the things you can control, such as your position and the composition of the image. Other than that it's really a game of timing and luck, I think. Sometimes you capture that perfect moment - and sometimes you miss it by the blink of an eye but get something different instead. I guess what I'm trying to say is: Be there, keep your finger ready on the shutter release, and whatever you get - just roll with it.
Though it can be easy to become discouraged when you don't get good results the first or second time around. Sometimes it's just 'bad luck' because no interesting subject shows up, or you can't get close to them (both are especially true for birds). The key is to be persistent; and when you finally get that amazing shot it makes up for all the hardships and waiting.
Plus you learn a lot of amazing things about animals through observation and studying in the process!

I cannot but agree with you that photography's a matter of luck and timing (apart from patience and passion)! Cameras simply capture moments, and photographers are responsible for choosing the right ones. Without luck it's easy to lose or spoil a moment :/ Or sometimes the "right" moment may never pop up, no matter how much time you've been waiting for it. This can be upsetting, but at the same time it makes successful shots so much more special to us
I've accumulated a decent amount of photomaterial over several years. But with the passing of time much of what I used to consider "amasing" now only looks "mediocre", heh. I guess, our vision changes along with ourselves.
Though I am very critical of myself, I highly appreciate your encouragement! Thank you! It's crucial to keep doing what you like, no matter what it is, that's the only way to improve and expand skills.
Apart from photography I really like drawing. I still need to learn a lot , but thankfully today we have lots of means to get useful information, and tha DA community's also very inspiring.
I wish you much luck and incredibly good timing to capture many impressive moments!

That's a good point you mentioned: As we change, so does our perception of everything. When it comes to art, I like to think that it reflects our progress when we learn to see mistakes and imperfections we wouldn't have spotted before. Although that does not necessarily detract from the value of older pieces of art, I think. Art, like life itself, is always in a state of "work in progress", so much like our previous experiences and mistakes that made us who we are today, those rough, imperfect works of art have contributed to our later, more advanced works of the present.
But I'm getting a little too philosophical here.
I'd love to see more of your drawings, by the way! You seem to have many different interests and a diverse skill set; it's great that you keep nurturing those skills.
