I think so too. Naomi did mention that Cas had been a bit of trouble for her and the others. I often wonder if this isn't his first time siding with the humans. Also the fact that he was the only angel to survive getting to Dean (which you had previously stated, though they did want Dean alive so they could have their apocalypse), and that he was the only one, (even Anna went "darkside" after being imprisoned) to continue helping Dean and Sam, and become their friend/brother in arms no matter how many times he was hurt helping them. He shows a much stronger strength of character and a stronger ability to act upon free will than the other angels. He's also next to impossible to kill.... So yeah I agree with you and your friends.

That's exactly what we thought as well.
I don't think an ordinary was able to rescue Dean from hell on his own.
And he was dead and came back two times or even more, can't remember to be honest 
If God or whoever it was who brought him back so often, he MUST be a special angel.
