XD It would probably make you happy to know then that they are actually a thing in the Japanese world of Sonic. The English side though, they edit a lot of things to make it more subtle :3

Personally, by watching some of the Japanese scenes in games and in anime, I would say it is safe to assume they are actually a thing. Only thing is though, Shadow is more subtle and reserved about it, Rouge is not, though I suppose this is to be expected given what each of their personalities and character arch is like.

It does not really show any kissing since Shadow would probably only do that when no one is watching, but there are scenes in which they are holding hands and other scenes where Shadow is clearly blushing at Rouge XD You can find a lot of these by watching the Sonic x anime in Japanese with english subtitles if you can't understand Japanese and other scenes in video games when they play cut scenes. Just do some looking around you will find it :3

Sorry not really, though I can say just do some digging you will find it, mostly they are in the Sonic x anime in the Japanese uncut version, Sonic 06's Japanese cut scenes I think I have seen some of it in too. I have to ask though just out of curiosity, what is your opinion on the knuckles and rouge pairing, I always hated it just because I feel Knuckles is not really Rouge's type. You can't even really say she flirts with him and goofs around with him as proof since rouge does that with everyone really, including Shadow.

ive always hated it too bc it never felt like they really even got along, and im just not into rival ships. i dont see them working out at all, especially since rouge is so into teasing people and knuckles gets angered too easily from teasing, it just wouldnt work. and plus for me ive grown a very strong personal attachment to shadouge over the years (tbh i think just saying theyre my otp is a bit of an understatement..) so other ships with those two make me uncomfortable now

not to mention those two constitutionally are fighting and sometimes even get physical, Rouge has pissed Shadow off before with the teasing, but the most her and Shadow ever did was bicker. Shadow never really tried beating her up that I know of, Knuckles has.

yeahh exactly, and just in comparison shadow and rouge have a very deep and caring relationship already, her and knuckles just have "he has the master emerald, shes a treasure hunter" there just inst really anything there besides conflict

i think ive only ever did one roleplay (maybe another but i dont think i did much in it), it was a pokemon one, pokemon mystery dungeon specifically (taking place after the explorers games i believe). a sonic roleplay sounds like itd be really fun!
