I'm mostly into scifi and fantasy, I like some medieval and ancient history too. Lots of my artwork revolves around that. I love rock but hate rap and prefer coca cola to pepsi cola. What are you into?

Earthy-Sagittarious In reply to Alexios2 [2011-11-18 01:22:59 +0000 UTC]
A little bit of everything. Mostly fantacy, sci-fi, mythology, history, and nature. Rock is awsome, rap depends on the artist and on how it sounds. But Tech is my fave. I'll drink most all soda, save for the citrus crap or mt. dew. What era of history do you like best? P.S.: Sorry if I scared ya enytime at the art class.

I'm mostly into Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and Ancient Greek history with an interest in medieval Europe in general. What time period are you into most? Don't worry about art class, you just caught me by surprise before I left. I usually tend the be more reserved when I'm around people I don't know too well, so it's all good.

I'm usually the same, but I figured you being Jans friend, it'd come sooner or later.*plus thats one of my ways of approving you as a friend* I tend to be a physical person. Speaking of phyical, I love greek art and mythology. I love enything to do with Japan and its culture/history. I went there once. It..was..AWSOME. You ever been out of the U.S.?

Greek myth is awesome. I like how their gods weren't perfect and omnipotent like in Christianity, they were capable of mistakes and human failings like greed, jealousy, and hate. I haven't been anywhere outside the country. The farthest I've been from the area was Los Angeles years ago. If I could go somewhere outside the country it would be either Canada or western Europe: Spain, France, Italy, and maybe Greece and Turkey. I know Jan went to Japan in a foreign exchange trip, did you go on the same trip?

I went on the trip after that. I really wanna go back. I'd love to go to Europe sometime. I got friends in Spain and France. I also love Norse and celtic mythology. What's your favorite style/subject for art?

Alexios2 In reply to Earthy-Sagittarious [2011-11-22 19:40:02 +0000 UTC]
I like art from the Renaissance, Baroque, Art Nouveau, and the Impressionists. I don't care for alot of the later 20th Century art movements. I like more representational artwork, which is probably why I'm having some trouble with the dadaist art we've been doing at school, lol. You'd fit in with my Dad's side of the family as their Scandinavian and love all things Norse. What art movements do you like?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Earthy-Sagittarious In reply to Alexios2 [2011-11-23 19:26:16 +0000 UTC]
I'm not much of a "movement" person. Don't know any. I'm more of a breezy watcher when it comes to art. If I see something I like, I'll learn about it. If there's no interest, I drift on to the next one. I know it sounds like I'm a little snobbish or careless, but that's just how I look at things. Then again, I look at most the "human" related world that way. What about you, how do you veiw the art and/or world of man?

Alexios2 In reply to Earthy-Sagittarious [2011-11-24 09:29:54 +0000 UTC]
I think that everyone looks at the world in more or less the same way. Like you if I find something I'm interested in I'll dig deeper into to it to find out more. If not then I tend not to worry about it. Like with history I tend to gravitate more towards the civilizations or eras I told you earlier, others not so much. But each person is different and that's what keeps us from being boring! You said you were into scifi, what series/books do you like?

The T.V. series Farscape has to be the best one I've seen so far. Haven't read much latley, other than the occasional comic. I just haven't had time with work, school, and stuff to get into one. It's sad, I know. What scifi you like? Do you read comics? How's thanksgivin goin?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Alexios2 In reply to Earthy-Sagittarious [2011-11-25 08:29:09 +0000 UTC]
I like Farscape, but my three faves are Stargate SG-1, Babylon 5, and Battlestar Galactica (the new one that came out in 2003). I also have a soft spot for Star Trek, though I don't really care for the Enterprise series. I'm not much of a comic reader, not because I don't like them but because I just never read them. I do read some novels when I get the chance. My favorites are the Lord of the Rings and the Dune series.
Thanksgiving was pretty good. We had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings and, of course, pie at the end, yum. What'd you do for T-day? What kinds of anime are you into?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Earthy-Sagittarious In reply to Alexios2 [2011-11-25 15:21:17 +0000 UTC]
It was the usual turkey, gravy, etc. On T-day, I cleaned, watched a muppet movie marithon, and tried to relax before black friday (uuhg). There were some other things in the list, but I'm doing my best to not scare away friends. As for anime, Studio Ghibli, Summer Wars, anything with comedy really...and/or nice body shots... *blush* What about you?

My anime exposure has been a bit limited. My current faves are a few Gundam series, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, and some Dragon Ball Z. I tend to like the more serious-themed animes. I used to watch a lot of Toonami until they axed it, damn them! At least they still show some late night. I don't watch as much as I used to due to work and school. What kind of movies do you like?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Earthy-Sagittarious In reply to Alexios2 [2011-11-26 16:40:03 +0000 UTC]
Depends on my mood. mostly comedy, documenteries, musical, and forgin. Cowboy BeBop is awsome. Gundam Wing was cool. DBZ is ok, loved the bods. What movies you like?

I'm mostly into the epic-kind of movies. I like a lot of historically based movies like Master and Commander, Kingdom of Heaven, and Gladiator. Comedy is good but it depends on the actor: Jim Carey, Robin Williams, Kathy Bates and Jack Nicolson. I don't care for most of the new comedy shows that are out now, maybe because I grew up watching what my parents liked (ah, living in the land that time forgot!). Yeah, the anime makers got down that Greek body idealization, he he. What are you studying for in school?

Earthy-Sagittarious In reply to Alexios2 [2011-11-27 19:15:47 +0000 UTC]
Some of my fave actors are: Jim Carry, Robin Williams, and Bette Middler. I'm not going for any peticular goal. Outside of Japanese, I'm just getting the basics like math and writing out of the way. "he he"... you a fan of the male anatomy? I admit, I love art, or most things, that deal with the human physique; mostly the male half *chezzy grin*. What's your outlook on the human figure? Both in and out of art.

Alexios2 In reply to Earthy-Sagittarious [2011-11-27 20:46:53 +0000 UTC]
It amazes me on how ancient Greek and Roman precedence for presenting the human body idealized in art has stuck around for so long. I guess it just comes from what humanity as a whole finds attractive. I try to keep myself in good shape, but I could never look like those Greek sculptures or modern fitness models unless I practically lived in a gym. But then I wouldn't get much artwork done if I did! Best to stick with what I'm good at, eh. Lol.
Heard that ya had a birthday bash last night, how did that go? I would've been there if it weren't for work.

It was a bit disapointing. Till I went out with Jan and Jen. The pressents were nice. I got some good beer and Japanese peach-wine. It was a short night; long day at work and all. We're gonna do a better party sometime soon. You're always invited to my parties. Was your 21st birthday good?
P.S.: I think you look very nice...physique-wise
