I use the Slik Pro 700 DX - [link] . I bought it from B&H Photo - [link] . I absolutely love it! It's sturdy, strong and can hold up to 15 pounds. The price is even better. check out the reviews at B&H.

I could have used the massive 15.1 megapixel but it's all good though. Like people say, "bodies come and go but glass is forever".

Yeah dude, I would love for you to photograph some of my cacti. I am just using some standard digital camera, nothing special. I am definately open to any and all pointers.

I took a look at the camera you're using and that's for sure basic and so much standard. Now-a-days the standard is much better at a cheaper price. For the amount you paid when you got your camera now you get triple the image quality and just better everything. If you've got the money I would recommend looking into getting a new camera. Like I said, they're real cheap now-a-days.
Anyways, if you or you know any couples, people, just anyone that wants to get some photos done like portraits and such, for sure give me a call. I'm a lot cheaper than most photographers. Mainly because I'm trying to grow my portfolio. Just take a look at what I've done already in my gallery. Pass on my site and cell number. Thanks man. Brian (707)332-6723

Well just about any new camera, from any company, in that price range will be great. It really depends on so many factors though. Like what are you going to be shooting the most, do you want it to fit in your pocket and what features you want. I've narrowed some down for you though.
Canon PowerShot SD950 IS
Panasonic DMC-TZ5K
Olympus Stylus 1020
All are kick ass cameras and will for sure fulfill all your needs in a consumer camera.
