  It's really easy to explain . These are pre-designed templates to build the 3D models. Templates can be printed, the pieces are cut and pasted as if it were a three-dimensional puzzle. Most models use a program where you can observe the complete model and component parts.
Well that's simple words , but it is much more complicated as you increase the difficulty of the models . Sometimes it's a challenge more patience than skill and sometimes need much skill to handle paper .

Yes it's pretty fantastic once you finish a model, is complete satisfaction .

Well , I only built models designed by others (Though I make more realistic touches on each model ). Many use 3D design software as blender, 3dmax, etc. Then the OBJ file is imported into a program called Pepakura Designer (the most used) and then begins to "unfold" the model to create the templates. The design of models is an area that I haven't yet tried , because in fact there are millions of models already created and ready to build but very little time to build them all .

That is awesome I have 3d max I will learn about Papakura Designer and i'll try my best in this Sounds like fun and also the models look amazing .Thank you for detailing me these techniques I hope that i'll have enough time to practice them .

That is great! We may have a future papercraft designer

I suggest that you first build one paper though . So you'll have more idea of how to design papercrafts based on a 3D model.

All these are ready to view, print and cut. Additionally you'll need the Pepakura viewer program.
