Okay, I'm just a really big fan of your work, to sum up the longish rant below. Seriously, rock on.

Thank you so much to take the time to comment on my work. I am glad it gave you a "pleasantly suprising jolt." And I thanks again for saying so - it truly does mean a lot to me.

Hi! I just wanted to say that your work gave me a pleasantly surprising jolt. I enjoy exploring other peoples' artwork on this website, because there are so many varieties of styles and concepts which people interpret and present... yours has a freshness in what I have seen. Great use of colour, organic movement (even in highly inorganic shapes), and very intriguing. I started writing this comment after having looked at your collection of foot paintings, and drawing-with-the-brain pieces, and was going to mention that it would be interesting to see a high contrast textured painting from you. Only then did I run across your section of -yes indeed- textured paintings. Great stuff

Working can eat up a lot of one's time. Hope things go well at the Red Deer College.

Things are going, in a showing here and preparing to do some work on another deck of cards.....and then the normal doodling.
I like the new work, bravo!

Amber-JaneGrove In reply to mockrabbit [2011-02-10 02:23:18 +0000 UTC]
How do you do it? Where are you getting them? I wouldn't mind showing, but I suppose I am putting a lot of my energy into the producing and not enough "getting out there."
Are you doing your own deck then? That would be awesome to see.
Good to hear that you keep doodling. How is that t-shirt thing going - the tattoo shirts? - parodon my lack of knowing what exactly it is.
Thanks. I really do appreciate your comments.

I wasn't producing a lot until I got the shows, but now I'm ready to just begin working again.
If you would like to put on a show in Lethbridge you should contact David Bullied (remember him?), he is the curator for the gallery in the Lethbridge Public Library, it is a small space, but a space none the less.
Not my own deck yet, maybe a little later, right now just another card in a charity deck being put together by Todd again (this time I believe the fund raiser is for veterans and the theme of the deck is 'Nose Paintings') if you have some time and interest you should go into this one too, I can forward you the info if needed.
I'm not too sure how the clothing deal is going, I know the company is still up and running, but that is it, I still need to get one, but it would be cheaper to just have some screened here and promote myself, or more fun to actually get some screens and print them myself.
Your new work, the combination of photography, illustrations, time and digital manipulation(?) are sweet. It's a great direction and evolution in your work.
On a more serious note:
Did you hear that Guitar Hero was killed today?
Keep in touch, let me know about contact info you might need and I'll pass on any info for submissions I stumble upon.

Thanks for the help in direction.
I wouldn't mind if you sent me some information on this other set of cards.
If you do start doing shirts or something like that you should update me on your progress and whatnot.
Thanks again for your compliments.
Serious? Ummm, who? Why? When?

I e-mailed you the info for the new deck o' cards, and the organizer asking him to hold a spot for you if the event is not full yet.
I don't know how I do it, I'm just trying to do more
...maybe if your interested we could submitt a purposal to the Gusho Studio this year for the residency. Better odds of getting in if the work being done is a collaberation, just a thought.
I will let you know about shirts and thingys as they come up. right im decing what i want to work on next. I just finished cleaning and organizing my studio today, i've got a ton of materials for 2d and 3d work so I need to figure out whats next. I have even been giving some thought to a graphic novel of some sort....
I dont know, maybe the royalties on the music in the game was getting to be to much.

Dear miss Amber-Jane,
How goes? any swash-buckeling on the horizon or just a squaky parot and some wet crackers keeping you company?
I finally recieved my deck of cards, nice work!
Anything exciting and/or bizarre happening in your reality right now? It's been some time now and I thought I would come by and say 'AAAAAAAarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggh.!'.
This mixed and fractioned thought brought to you by NBL; trust NBL for all your random ramblings.

Hey Mr NBL.
Things go well. I am not one-hundred percent sure what you are talking about, but the only company I encounter is my brother and the people at work. Yup, that is right, I actually have a job now... Wait for it... I make Mascots, at International Mascot Corporation. I have only been there for about a month now. I enjoy it. Art stuff is still going on as usual. I am trying to get a mini-ceramic studio going on in my kitchen (minus the kiln and everything, but I found a place that will fire my things for me).
Anyway, thanks for the comment on the card.
I hope things are going well for you.
Amber-Jane

No problem. The detail is pretty amazing. From seeing the thumbnail I thought it was a sculpture or a photograph of a organic stump. Good stuff.

You have some very cool body paintings
I'd really like to see some faces though.
It looks like your ideas would look really awesome incorporated into face painting
