Right now I'm in the middle of something, that might turn an enteresting (and free! XD) experience! And I'll tell you all about it when I return home in a few weeks, hehehΒ Β
Also just recently I had an interesting time proofreading a new self-publishedΒ steampunk book (in Russian, of course) - "The Fox, that painted dawns". The book's mostly shit XD XD XD Well, it's written in quite a poor style, but it has some interesting ideas and introduces a new universe of biomechanical people called mechanoids, some of them can turn into mech-animals. And there are zeppelins there. Any story is better when there are zeppelins in it
So. I didn't get any money from this job, but it was partly fun. And partly shitty - again, cause the style sucks and there were a hella lot of mistakes, which the author also refused to correct "because thouse are not mistakes, those are peculiarities of my style", pfff! And I actually not only learned how to proof-read, but also that I'm pretty good in it for a person with no degree in this area.Β Β

sounds very interesting! i look forward to hearing all about that
and i understand how hard proof-reading can be ! some people really need to learn about how to write before they do so... but i also get the whole "peculiarities of style" thing, as i have a similar issue with my art. because it doesnt look polished, authors and buyers have a hard time accepting it, even asking me to change my art style for a piece; but im just not wired that way, and i draw how i draw
but yeah some people are terrible at writing, and dont know or want to accept help with it. and its sad
as for us, life goes on and we are always busy. its just been el's birthday and tyler's too, so a super busy weekend has just gone by. lilly is bigger than ever and enjoying school greatly, and i managed to hurt my leg just as my back was getting better.
