I actually do have a question for you:

In Photoshop (it's been a while since i used CS because of stupid elements) do they actually label the different brushes?

I've no idea but in Cs5 (i actually use it) who have new bruches with new names and codes, all bruches r in different categories and have descriptions, its easy make an own folder with your own brushes with names or numbers.
In my case i have 3 or 4 custom brushes in a folder and a hundred brushes from different webpages in others.
I don't know if this is your question :-P

I just figured by now they actually name them (but who wants to sit around and name brushes all day). I dont think i asked you this question either: what's your preferred program to use? i know you mentioned a few others that you use other than CS3 and 5

I at some point tried using sai, and just couldnt understand it xD so i went back to Photoshop lol
I used toonboom and had no idea what was going on
GIMP felt too generic for me, even tho my friend gets good art out of his results
I'll just stick with photoshop till i grow old xD

hahaha, i know your feelings :P (Lick) . I try to use a lot of programs but my favourite is photoshop because is very intuitive and it have a lot of tuttorials.
I only use photoshop and my tablet to draws. But in Animation (im a junior animator XD) i use 3D Maya (not for drawing obviusly) and Toon Boom. The universe of toon boom is like my closet....a mistery xDDDDD i hate it...and love it, arg! xDDDDD

Actually i only use photoshop cs5 and im happy but Cs6 have many interesting things that i want to use... someday...
