As a business coach and busy work at home mom, I know the importance of taking the time to feel "special, unique and enchanting". Day to day life can become monotonous and overwhelming for everyone at times. With my family constantly moving around the country due to my husband's military enlistment, I constantly found myself busy from sun rise to sunset- and often times, I neglected my own creativity. This lead to a lack of motivation and self confidence.Everyone deserves to dream, to feel absolutely magical, and to have self confidence and creativity in their self image. Sometimes, what we need is a special reminder to move the gears in our mind. A "key" to unlock our imagination from time to time. Thus- the idea of Art by Starla Moore was born.

Unfortunately I did not, as I do not smith any of my parts. Creating custom metal jewelry is extremely difficult without tools. I'm in the process of saving money for my own kiln so I can begin smithing my own small components to use on my keys, and to create a unique charm, you must have your kiln (a several thousand dollar investment unless you build one yourself), a knowledge about metals and their melting points, a knowledge of wax carving to create the initial molds OR the knowledge of making wax trees to create multiple versions of your charm.
My suggestion would be to consider finding a polymer clay tutorial, rather than attempting to use metal. Polymer clay is such a cheap and friendly resource AND you can even paint it to look nearly identical to metal. There are several tutorials here on DA but I also recommend pinterest for some advanced tutorials.
