Hey Ashe, do you have an account anywhere else that we can follow, or something? Or have you been taking a break since the end of Roommates? (Which is completely understandable.)

I know most people don't really do much on devart anymore, and if you have moved on, or spread out a bit, I'd love to be able to see what comes next for you. (And if you decide to write/draw something new, I'm sure we'd all love to support you in it!)

I've followed Roommates since 2009, and it's meant so much to me, watching all of the characters grow and change. I've always loved your art style and the various arcs. I remember first finding Jareth and Erik sitting in a bar together and getting hooked on that small comic. I'm so glad you made such a wonderful world and shared it on Deviantart for everyone to see. I definitely cried at the end. Thank you

As sad as I am to come back and find your telling of the story ended... thank you for everything. I started reading all those years ago and while I may have been absent for a few of those years I'm so glad you continued and that you ended it so beautifully. 

I'm sure you have more stories to tell, I'm sure they'll be just as wonderful, and I wish you all the best in the future. Maybe I'll be able to read them too, I hope so.

So, it just hit me how long ago you began your Roommates story. And before that, the bar where Erik and Jareth hung out. Over thirteen years. Well, since you started posting them anyway. I've been following for most of that time. Very sad that it's over. Then again, it's not really over. Every ending is a new beginning, after all.

Well, once again, thank you for the years of joy your comics have brought us all. I wish you good luck in all your future endeavors.

I do have one last request, though. If at any time in the future you decide to revisit the boys in your artwork, I'd still really love to see them all dressed up as gangsters, for Halloween or, you know, just because. Just a thought.

As they say, all good things must come to an end. I am a latecomer to the series. But the art,ideas and integration of all characters from popular series and genres was brilliant. Original characters such as Story added their own presence and weight. I will miss this, but I know how much it can take a toll on someone who does something this long.

Thank you for everything. Thank you for a great comic, and a slice of life look into the lives of four wonderful characters and all their foibles.

I just read the last page and left a comment there- and now it's really hitting home that Roommates is over. I said it in my comment on that page- I've been following this story since I was in high school, and that's over 10 years ago now. It's so... strange to know that something that's been a part of my life for such a long time has finally come to its conclusion. 

So, once again, thank you, Ashe, for making this. Thank you for taking your time and talents and creating something that's been a part of my life for such a long time, for bringing me and so many others such joy. Thank you for telling the Story.

I don't know if I want this to happen sooner or later. I check every day for a new page but also kind of breathe a sigh of relief when there isn't one because that means Roommates is, for the moment, keeping on. I've said before how long I've been following this comic. I've already picked out what I want to use to bind it into volumes when all's said and done.

I don't know if the rumors of the comic ending are true, but no matter what, I want to thank you for creating this wonderful, beautiful comic that has quite literally shaped me as a person.  Words cannot express how much "Roommates" means to me.  I've been following it since December 2013 - I binged the entire comic up until whatever the latest panel was at that time in one night before finals - and it has both reinforced my love of familiar characters and introduced me to numerous new ones.  You, Ashe, are the one who first showed me Good Omens and Der Erlkönig and so many many more.  There are certain lines and moments from this comic which never leave my consciousness, chief among them the one about redemption way back in 11 as well as Jareth's first statement about Story pushing back.  This comic has not only brought me countless hours of enjoyment, it has changed the way I see the world and fiction's place in it.  THANK YOU, Ashe, for spending years of your life on this much-beloved project.  Thank you.

People are saying this is really the end. I don't know if this is just people taking the recent comics the wrong way or if it is true but if it IS true, I want you to know how much your comics inspired me. I've been reading your comics since 9th grade. I am now a senior in college. Your art style has improved so much over the years and it looks incredible. You inspired me to keep drawing and get better and better. I'm still working at it but you should know that you were a big inspiration to me and I'm sure lots of others. If this is really the end, thank you so much for everything. This story was something I didn't know I needed in my life. I don't know you personally but I really wish I could give you a big hug.

I remember the bunker. Asher, I've been reading that Roomates is ending? I just want to tell you that this comic literally changed my life in late 2014, for good, and for best. I wish you the best in the next endeavour (which I would love to still be a fan of) and I know life will return to you with thousands more what you gave me and that is so so much. 

As some comments are recommending I will re-read it to get ready to the end and practice my indesign abilities to save a copy to have in my life.

Ashe,

I’ve been following this comic since 2014. Not as long as others, true, but still a damn long time. It got me to read Good Omens, ship Valvert, watch Phantom of the Opera and Labyrinth, rewatch the Pirates series, and so many more. I quote it way too often and some of the most heartwrenching, awesome, and breathtaking lines and exchanges I know come from this comic. “Come then, and see what kind of king I am.” “I don’t believe. But sometimes, I wish i did.” “This wasn’t the ending I wanted and that wasn’t a request.”

I don’t know you. I don’t know anything about you at all. But I know you are probably one of the greatest storytellers I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to, and my deepest and sincerest wish is that in ending this comic, you’re going on to create your own stories and get the recognition you more than deserve. Thank you for four years and however much longer I have to enjoy this story before I finally get to print the rest of it out, stick it in a binder, and call it “the end”.

If the last comic you posted is an indication, you seem to be wrapping up "Roomates". The series has felt like a constant in my life for years, so it breaks my heart to think it will be ending.
