Dániel is the male counterpart of Elizabeta, or, the representation of Hungary. Like his counterpart, he grew up nomadic, however, he did not believe he was a girl. He was raised around men just like her, so he had to fight/act like a man. He still is, like Himaruya stated, the manliest character in the series. Unlike popular belief, if you ask him what yuri is, he won't have any clue. When it comes to relationships, Austria and him get along well nowadays, and even if Prussia can get "obnoxious" as Dániel would describe it, they're friends nonetheless. Even so, him and Romania continue to fight like "cats and dogs".

It was Christmas day.
Nadine sat in her desolate home, unoccupied and alone. She fixed herself near her window, bundled up in layers of blankets with a cup of tea in her hand; watching the snow fall through the dark night sky, masking the exterior of her house. On her coffee table, were placed letters and one or two Christmas cards she had received in the mail the day before, from family members or friends, wishing her a merry Christmas. So far, it had been pretty boring and lonesome. Nadine decided to call her best friend, Daniel, who she knew wouldn't mind giving her a little company- if he could, on this secluded Christmas day. She dialed his number and waited for an answer- hoping she wasn't being a disturbance.

Daniel actually wasn't doing much at all, considering most of his friends were already occupied with Christmas plans. Sitting in front of a small fireplace he had to attempt to keep alive, paging through a book was his holidays. However, he cocked his head with the ring of his telephone. He put a bookmark in the book and pulled himself up, making his way towards the phone. Daniel grasped it, pulling it off the receiver which ceased the ringing. "Szia?" he said in a questioning tone. He hadn't had a phone with caller ID, and he wasn't expecting any calls at this time of night.

Nadine dozed off slightly as she waited for an answer- hearing his voice snapped her back into reality. Because of his tone, she assumed he was doing something more worth his time than having a silly little conversation over the phone, so she tried to be brusque and to the point. "Hallo Daniel..! Eh, I was wondering how your holiday has been so far?" Nadine spoke quickly, without further adieu.

The voice on the phone was all too familiar, none other than his dear friend Nadine. Now knowing who it was, his tone picked up a more cheerful, energetic tone. He smiled to himself, glad to be hearing the familiar voice. "Nadine! Hey!" he began, pulling at the cord to his phone. "Huh? Oh! Eh, could be better. I guess I hadn't expected much anyway, it's been pretty uneventful." Daniel chuckled slightly. "How about you? Fine, I'd hope?" He'd hate to see Nadine spending it alone. For some reason, her well being had always been important to him, even to this day.

Nadine breathed deeply before replying. "Oh. Well I guess we have the same problem, hehe." She slightly laughed. "I wouldn't say it has been 'fine' so far. I have not had one visitor all day! I'm sitting near the window now, just watching the snow." She slowed down a bit, hearing his change in tone was a relief to her.

"Oh?" They both obviously had the same problem, why not fix it? He thought to himself, grinning a bit. "Hey, how about I drop by or something. It doesn't have to be eventful at all and you don't need to prepare anything, just for each other's company, y'know?" he proposed. "It'll be fun, just the two of us! Whaddya say?" he almost looked at the phone as if it were Nadine itself expectantly, hoping she'd answer with a 'yes'. It would sure make his day, and he got the hunch it would make her's as well.

Nadine let out a cheerful sigh. "Hey, why not? The day is almost over, anyways- and this is probably the worst Christmas ever! Let's make the most of it." she twirled the phone's cord around her finger and crossed her legs, before realizing she hadn't a gift to offer her BEST FRIEND on Christmas day. She decided not to tell him just yet; she had something in mind planned as a gift. "I'll be waiting!"
