Would you mind if I were to note you on the Spock/Uhura thing? Ā I strongly opposed that too, but for different reasons, and wonder if you might be interested.

I wanted to leave comments on your rants, but I think it helped me calm down to have to press a few buttons here to transfer webpages.Ā
I actually agree with 90% of what you said. I'm a huge TOS fan myself, but after watching the films with a clear POV, I still found Uhura/Spock seeming so... awkward and forced.
I guess this is a thanks for actually ranting.

I just read through a huge rant, to find out comments are disabled. Since the rant involved moving a discussion from another site to DA, I don't think it's too out of line to bring it to your front page.
And it's not like I disagree, or strongly agree, or anything. I just don't get why people keep thngs online when comments are disabled.

Iām just popping in to say thanks for the insightful conversation we had over this: [link]
It was great to talk with somebody who was willing to hear me out without resorting to calling me stupid or something equally childish (this has happened to me in the past...) Aaand thanks to you, I think I understand a bit better why people feel the need to go to such measures to defend their right to ship K/S. I completely understand why you'd want to disable the comments, though. I checked out some of them and they were... interesting, to put it mildly. I can only hope I didn't on my own part make you feel any more stressed, because it wasn't my intention at all. Anyway, thanks. I'll be interested in the future if you have more essays to post about star trek.

I agree, it's the most frustrating thing in the world when someone isn't even willing to have a civil discussion over a topic. I don't know how many times I've been forced to point out to people that there is such at thing as 'respecting difference of opinion' and agreeing to disagree, but it's far too many.
I've been thinking about disabling comments for a while, but never really gone through with it. But I think it's just gotten to the point where I honestly don't know how to deal with it anymore. :\
Not at all! You made some very insightful comments and I enjoyed my conversation with you.
I'm not sure if I'm going to be writing any more essays about Star Trek... it will depend of whether I find something I feel the need to write about. But thank you! ^_^

HEY LOOKEY HERE, AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE IS RIGHT HERE.
Please don't thank me for the fav. You're welcome!
If you want to thank me for the watch, or if you have something for a group or just want to talk, feel free to comment here! But thanking me for the fav is unnecessary. After all, if I hadn't liked it, I wouldn't have faved it.
So really, thank you for making something I liked.

Perhaps all starts because something gets lost between writing and reading. If more than one person argues (and I'm not considering people against the roof of the argument to start with, read S/U), perhaps it's because they (and me first of all) understand something that's different for how you intended.
Happy week.

You like Death Note? I obsessed over the series for a WHOLE MONTH! My grades went down because of it. I don't like LxLight though.

Ava1234567 In reply to hellohello2234 [2011-12-27 03:01:23 +0000 UTC]
Are you kidding? I obsessed over it for half a year. I'm still not tottally over it. And I HATE HATE HATE LxLight. As I said to another fan, "I'm not anti-yaoi or anti-slash, but I think that there are some books/movies/etc. where relationships/pairings just have no place, Death Note being one of them. You can count on one hand the number of relationships in Death Note, and none of them were very romantic: Light's parents (who only had one scene alone together), Raye Penber and Naomi Misora (who only had one scene together period), and Light's many girlfriends (Misa, Takada, that girl he went to the amusement park with, and others who were only mentioned by name) and none of those could be really called relationships as he was using all of them in one way or another. All the slashing annoys me- especially LxLight. They were trying to KILL EACH OTHER and (spoiler alert!) Light actually succeeded . Where is the love in that, exactly? "

IKR!! I like it not having any relationships or anything like that. At least I know it won't have my mom getting mad at me for any of the crude humor/stuff. I don't know what those people were thinking when they thought that trying to kill each other was love. I tend to watch a series and obsess over it for a little. Right now I'm obsessing over Hetalia, and I don't think I'll ever get over that.
