No it isn't. Tracing is when someone draws over the original lines then claims them as their own. Cover Bands re-create songs that are not they're own but add a touch of their own style. The Monkees is a cover band of the Beatles. They're own styles and materials, but meant to be a lot like the Beatles. Of course, Beatles were more popular simply because they came first. But fans didn't start attacking the Monkees for trying to copy the Beatles.
If you're going to start accusing someone of tracing, I suggest you come up with legit evidence. Batman's words leads me to think that he references his ideas from images. If he was tracing, 1)it'd be obvious on youtube in his videos and 2)why would he even post videos of his art if he was tracing at all. We have here a person who can look at something and draw it. My brother does the same thing simply because he can't seem to come up with his own poses. Again, referencing is a major big difference from tracing. Stop accusing him of something you can't back-up.

Wut. A cover band is a band that covers songs; ie, attempts to completely copy them. No "their own style" about it, not "make a similar style" either.

Just look at his gallery. Too many images are the basic same as the originals. His level looks like any other tracer's. And videos don't necessarily deny he traced them -- a couple of people have proven that before.

Why don't you listen to 'This is Halloween' by Danny Elfman, then listen to Marilyn Manson's version of 'This is Halloween'. The cover for 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' is still different from the original sung by The Beatles. I've even heard a cover of 'Bleeding Love', originally sung by Leona Lewis yet the version I like is all vocals and sung by a group of men. Copies but done in the cover band's own unique style.
I just love how you called me naive. I am well aware of what is stolen, what is traced, and what is art. He has too many videos to prove he didn't trace. I understand there is some layer system in MS Paint, however, some of his best drawings, such as the Harley Quinn drawing, no lines whatsoever. Oh, I would totally love to live in my fantasy world. Then, I wouldn't have to ever worry about trying to figure out some way to keep my college courses, all 9 of them, from being purged while waiting for my financial aid papers to be found because some idiots can't be organized and finally get them processed. I wouldn't have to worry about arguing with the school about my scholarship every single day just to get the amount I was recommended. I wouldn't have to worry about concerts or juries or sightsing tests and whether I'm going to pass my courses or not. I'd rather live in my fantasy world filled with nothing but unicorns and sweetarts. It's a shame I can't because I live in this hellish world.
You obviously can't comprehend any of the things I've said and actually consider them. I simply don't believe he traces because I've seen his videos and none of you can provide the proof. Just saying he traces because his art looks like every other tracers on this site doesn't cut it. If you can't back up what you claim, anything you say will become invalid. There are people who can actually draw something from looking at an image in front of them without tracing. I've seen it before. Tell me all you want that he is tracing because as far as I can tell, he's not. You should move on and find an actual person who's stealing or tracing and make sure you have some actual evidence before you start accusing. Yeah go figure. You're just like everybody else who comments just because you don't like what you see so you have to bash people. I try to do one nice thing by defending somebody who is being falsely accused about something because I've been through the same thing and it is incredibly stressful. People don't deserve to be treated this way and you have no right to treat others thing way. Treat others as you would have them treat you.
If you and those other people want to do good, don't start attacking them because you think they're tracing. As I can't stress enough, find the evidence. Don't start something and keep on going, thinking you're going to win. If you understood the difference between art and theft, you'd recognize when something is stolen. Because I hate starting arguments, I'll visit the art I believe is being stolen, actually research, then explain to the person that this isn't the place for this. People will understand. If I can't find any clear evidence, then I'll just leave it be. If people refuse to take down whatever stolen art they posted, I will send them a warning then report them. That's the proper way to handle crap like this. If you suspect someone is tracing or stealing, do some real research. If tracing is involved, find the proof they did it, then show it to them. Don't start crap just because you either don't like what someone posted or you really believe someone is tracing. Believe, thinking, and knowing are completely different things. You don't know he's tracing. You think he is. Now prove it. Prove me wrong and show me he's tracing. Other than that, leave the guy alone.

Neither is it yours. And your attitude is pretty arrogant and immature. Before you go around accusing people of tracing, I suggest you better find some hard solid evidence before you attack someone. If you watch his videos on youtube, there are absolutely no signs of tracing. Doesn't mean he didn't reference, which is sooooo different from tracing. But it won't hurt him to credit people. But it's not like he's claiming anything as his except for the drawings in his gallery, which he did create, whether they are images referenced from copyrighted characters and poses or not. Reason why I said something? Because I found his videos on youtube first and he's one of a few rare people who can actually create good images in Paint.
So here's what you can do before you start acting like a fool: Get solid evidence before accusing someone of stealing or tracing. Don't drop by a person's page and start attacking them when you can nicely tell them what they are doing wrong and tell them how to fix it. For example, I will ask him to give the proper credit to his images, though I know for a fact he drew these pictures himself. If he referenced, he needs to state that.
So yeah...Grow up and go bust some real art thieves and tracers and find solid evidence before you take any sort of action. It's not that hard :/
