The only FF phone game I've tried is Final Fantasy Dimensions. I didn't give it much of a chance--didn't like how it controlled, and haven't really picked it up again since. :/

Yeah aye...I looked at it for a good while. It got good reviews and stuff but I didn't buy it.
Final Fantasy: All The Bravest (ATB see what they did there?) is just a HUGE mash up of all the classes and most of the main characters from the series. It has no story. It's driven by pure fan service.

I know Rydia...I don't have the After Years (the ex took my Wii!), but I do hear it's coming out on PSP in the Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection. Looking forward to that to see what the sequel's all about. How do you like the game?

I hope that collection comes "complete" with all the extra scenarios. See on wii you gotta buy em for 300 wii points each. The Crystal scenario costs I think 800 wii points. I keep lookin at Rydia's tale but, haven't bought any yet.

I like it over all. But its more a story teller then anything else. I don't get that epic "I'm on a journey!" feeling out of After Years. There's an airship full of drama in the story telling though!

One thing I don't like but, for now I'll say "I'm getting used to" is the Moon System. Every so often Black or White magic, attacks and stuff will be affected by the changing moon. TEDIOUS!!!

I think I read that it will have all the episodes. And a lot of what you thought of it is close to some reviews I've come across--kinda nice, but nowhere near as good as the original.

I just hope this is the last re-release of FFIV. I think I have as many different versions of it as I do numbered FFs!

Yep, I do--I've been playing more handheld games than anything these days. I kinda hoped the FFIV version for DS was the one that would end up in that PSP compilation, since I consider it much better. Do you have one?

Oh also, there's apparently going to be a new scenario added that will tie together FFIV and the After Years.

You bet your azz I got a fuggin DS! I haven't finished FF3 so until then I won't open my FF4...one of these days though!

That sounds nifty! I noticed Ceodore on the back of the DS FF4 box! I can't wait to see what thats all about.

I just looked at the DS box, and didn't see Ceodore. I suppose Cecil does look a bit like how Ceodore does.

Like I said earlier, I wasn't too big on playing through FFIV again, especially after playing the way-graphically-superior DS version. However, I did stumble on this, and changed my mind a bit. Still 2D, but sure does look purty (especially the pic on the left)!

My bad! I took a really hard look and I think I'm looking at Edge...far left screen shot saying "Rubicante! For this...for this you will pay!" is that Edge Bubba?

That is WAY different from any 2D Final Fantasy! Very intriguing and purty indeed. Not sure yet if I like the new look better than the original though.

Yep, that was Edge! The DS version is way different from the 2D, and so far it's my favorite version of the game. I'm digging the major graphic upgrade they did on the Collection version too, so we'll see which I like better after that comes out.

I was pretty lucky...all my grandparents are gone, but my parents ended up with the cabin. Right on the lake, so it's pretty sweet.

Yep, they're both originally from Star Wars. Biggs Darklighter was Luke's friend on Tattooine (who eats it in the Death Star run at the end), and Wedge Antilles (if I remember correctly--it's been awhile) was the last one with Luke in the Death Star run, who had to leave after his ship was damaged. The American translators messed it up in FFIII/VI by changing Biggs to Vicks, but both have been in most of the games in pretty small roles. So yes, it's all true!

They must've corrected the Vicks thing 'cause I never ran into it. I have the PS1 Anthology (ff5 ff6) so you must be talkin about the SNES version.

Yep, the SNES version is the only one I definitely know the name Vicks replaced Biggs. Everything after that, I know got various translation overhauls so it's likely you wouldn't have seen it.
