It's okay! And yes, I think I agree with you. When I look at it, the cheetah doesn't match up to the snow leopard as much as the lion does, so I'll probably take that one down from my journal.

Woah now, yes she does have a similar style, BirdieCrossing never accused her of art style theft, she was only sad because she thought BigCatia was trying to copy her. And now there is a possibility that they are traced, but there is also a possibility that they're just heavily referenced. You don't have the right to blame it all on Birdy just because the art MIGHT not be traced. It also doesn't give you the right to blame Bigcatia because the art MIGHT be traced. And if it is traced, guess what even if it's theft, lots of beginning artists start off with tracing, sure it's not the best thing to post on a public website but hey, I'm sure at least 50% of artists on here, public or not, have traced at least once in their lives. And as I said, the art may or may not be traced. That doesn't matter though because the art can easily be reported, and 90% of her gallery is original, heavily referenced or not, it's still her own original art.
Sorry for this rant. But please don't jump to conclusions.

guesses. ;-;  And, yes maybe Bigcatia did not steal the art, the style is different, but don't just blame it all on birdy.

I'm sorry, but it appears you've got it wrong. Birdy did not overeact. I know it was just a kid who referenced their art, but no matter what age you are, that's still considered theft. It's not just that one kid now, many people have stolen Birdy's art and reposted without permission. Birdy did the right thing in my opinion. :\

Hey, FreckleFord. I know you're my friend, but I have to say that I completely disagree with you. Referencing in any way is acceptable. And so is tracing and copying to an extent. It helps an artist's skill blossom. As the magnificent Jazza once said, think of tracing, copying, and maybe even referencing (to a certain degree) as training wheels. We're all not born knowing how to perfectly ride a bike, so we need some help and guidance, and it's nothing to be ashamed of, really. But we won't need them forever. One day we'll throw them to the curb and ride independently. We might be a little shaky at first, but we'll soon get used to having no guides. We'll develop our own sense of balance and in no time we can ride freely. I know I got into drawing by copying art from tutorials (which, for some reason, that's not seen as copying?), images online, etc. Without copying and highly referencing, I wouldn't be where I am now. I don't see a problem with what the so called "tracer" or "art theft" was doing, because it was only referencing. There was no tracing or art theft involved. Yes, there was the one lion drawing that was traced, but it was one out of quite a few. The rest were only referenced. I truly don't see a problem, and I don't get how Birdy's watchers were so blinded by the words "art theft" and "tracing" that they failed to realize that, besides the colours (which can obviously be excused), animals (which can most definitely be excused), and the poses (which can be excused), none of the art that the bigcatia drew were similar in any way to Birdy's drawing. They both had different art styles, different brushes were used, and other things. I'm surprised by all this hate that was brought to bigcatia. It's quite pathetic to see how all of Birdy's watchers ignored her saying to not attack her because of this, and instead went ahead and attacked her. It was not bigcatia who made Birdy quit, but Birdy's ignorant and rude watchers who decided to stir up trouble for her (as she said herself).
