LIKES Β Β Β Β Β Β Β i like foxes, gallexy patterns, wood patterns, good color schemes, writting, art, aisian art, a dark navy blue always beats basic black, i kinda like brown tattoo ink, i am not doing any of the glow in the dark inks, i love to go sailing with my grandparents on the lake ( despite my fear of water and inablity to swim ) also i have had a heart surgery before incase that stirs up any ideas. And also thank you for bringing up Maciej Kuciara, though I cannot buy his course currently, watching his intro video and utilizing the small bits I saw is what helped get this concept farther off the ground!

No problem! I can't help but giggle a little at those panties on the bed haha! Yeah, Maciej is an amazing artist however you need not purchase his course over at learnsquared to learn the technique. He has cheaper tutorials over on his gumroad, he has a 3 part character illustration tutorial that might prove useful to you to create Kira. If you're still not keen to buy, he has a YouTube channel teaching the basic of photobashing.

And thank you for watching me and enjoying the nixie tube clock. I am interested in your progress on your OC Mia. It feels alot like what my story is trying to convey with my character Kira. I just don't have the means to flesh her out within a 2D format at the moment.

No problem! I'm not sure if you're familiar with the artist Maciej Kuciara, he's the lead concept artist for the recent Ghost In the Shell movie but I'm using the same workflow as he is which is 3D integration.
Concerning softwares, I'm using Daz Studio to create my character model then bringing it over to Marvellous Designer to create her garment. I modelled her goggles using a CAD modelling software called Fusion 360. Once all the assets are finished, I rendered them out using Vray and photobashed it out on photoshop.
It's a very lengthy and complexed process as opposed to painting it straight up but the results are undoubtedly satisfying. Check out his futuristic character design course over on Learn Squared if you wanna learn it

No I actually have never heard of Maciej Kuciara and I went ahead and looked up his courses and that workflow is something I think is really good to use. Unfortunately I don't have Photoshop so most of my works are done in a program lacking all of those features but I do have 3ds Max atleast and access to the entire autodesk arsenal so I think I'm okay there. But thanks for the advice and keep up the good work. Hope to here from you in the future! Cheers!

Hey Kota, we don't have summer breaks here in Singapore so holidays will vary depending on which institution you go to but if you're asking how the summer months have been for me, I'm busy as ever haha. I'm on my last batch of assignments for the semester and after that, I'm off to undertake a game project until late august.

Read your profile, I take it you're from NYP? I actually wanted to study Game Art or Animation there, but *cough no thanks to my parents* they had little faith in these industries here and told me to choose between JC or graphic design ... I chose the latter but I hated my three years at TP Communication Design. It's a good course but it's simply not where my interest lies in, which is game art. Now that I've graduated, I applied to Digipen in hopes of getting closer to pursuing my dream career haha. Awaiting response from them.

Yup, you've guessed right, I'm from NYP. Sorry to hear that you couldn't pursue something you're keen to learn, I actually faced a similar situation with my parents before I enrolled into the school. I wanted to become a fine artist studying in an art institute but my parents went against it for similar reasons as yours but strangely enough, they agreed to let me study game art because it's 'digital'. To be brutally honest with you, the course really isn't gonna help you get far into the industry unless you're really good, I'd rather opt out and learn everything by myself, given the chance. The stuff on the internet could offer SO much more ( like Art Camp from Noah Bradley and Learn Squared by Marciej) and it's a cheaper alternative to school.Β
Digipen? Did your parents finally give in haha? Well, I can't have a say in Digipen cus well I haven't been there but I'm not intending to pursue a degree there simply because it's too long (3/4 years i think). I'll probably enroll in FZD( 1 year course) after I graduate.Β

It's a lil comforting to know that my parents aren't the only ones around who think that way hahaha. Lol conversely, my mom was hoping for me to study traditional fine art (like even moreso than graphic design) which I opposed to because I felt I wasn't good enough at the time and I really was more into digital xD
Mmm I wouldn't say my parents finally gave in, more like I proved to them that I still was passionate about the field haha. Personally since I've not had the diploma education like you did (and I don't have NS haha) I'm more in favour of full-time uni studies.
