Yes, I draw them all by hand, scan them onto my computer with a scanner, do some basic modifications in PaintShop Pro, then upload them to DeviantArt.

May I ask what model (Or what company) is the scanner? I'm asking because I hoping to do the same since I feel I do batter with good old pencil and paper.

Not very. I play with the brightness and contrast in my art program after the scan.
