# About me

My name is Trevor Merrill and I am a storyteller and a filmmaker. I produce, direct, write, edit, and fill in any other roles that I need to. My greatest strengths are writing and picture editing, but I do it all. I am fluent in Final Cut Pro 7, but Adobe Premiere CS6 is where it's at and have 5 short films with a total of 8 festival awards under my belt.

I began seriously writing as a teenager, starting with a lot of poetry and an unfinished novel. The best writing has some sort of personal connection to the writer and so there is a little bit of myself in everything I write. I have my BA in Film Studies (double concentration in Analysis and Production) from California Baptist University and attended Los Angeles Film Studies Center for their semester-long program. I have experience working with various kinds of cameras including GoPro, DSLR, and RED and was the first Film and Photography Equipment Manager at my college. I am also the founder of the Film Production Club at California Baptist University and was the President until leaving the main campus for LAFSC.

I am also a designer on the side. I was originally a Graphic Design major and took a great deal of classes in area and so I have experience in the field and I am knowledgeable in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. You can see some of my favorite works in the Deviations tab.

I am a God-fearing man from New York, who moved across the country to go to college in California, where I met my beautiful wife Diana. I have an extremely strong work ethic when working on projects and am a bit of a perfectionist. I used to be the scrawny super shy kid with a speech impediment, but have pushed myself to strive for excellence and jump into new and intimidating environments and have since become very good at what I do.

I will not work on anything that I would not want to represent me or I would be ashamed of. There are enough people willing to sell their soul for a buck and I would rather be the exception to the rule and never be rich and famous because I can live with that. Storytellers in a society are often times more influential than philosophers or theologians and I feel that as storytellers, we should have a higher standard than is the current norm.
