tattoooooaprenticeship is so fucking hard to get, its more easy to get a hmm what you call it, practice job? well its mostly that you clean tubes and gripes and do errands and do the autoclave (however you spell that)
but its soo much fun and you can learn by looking at the tattooist when he's working and ask questions and see how they do it¨
aaand after youve been there for a while then you could ask for a apprenticeship or if they know someone who could take you in (for sure they have many connections hoho )

I came here because of this:
I want to get into Flash tattoo designs but I'm not sure how that stuff works =/

Well start drawing a lot, buy some pens in 2 different point sizes
black. You need to learn about tattoo history and understand how tattoo started, why tattoo is made the way is made. The tools, the technic so you can do apropiated designs or start practicing tattoo. Not all tattoo makers know how to draw you can start by learning to draw flashes and thats a step forward, cause many I know draws like a kindergarden kid and do tattoos with stencils or flashes (Not good at my point of view).
Know about the tendencys , the styles, the american, old school, indian, mexican, character, black and grey, flowers and insects, japanesse, tribals, celtics, portraits, letters, etc etc..... try those and other styles to see in wich you are good or wich one you like. When you do a design do first the lines all of them, keep a copy of your lines alone and then colorize another copy. start by there, try doing your lines clean. If I say something wrong please any tattoo maker correct me. (Sorry for my english)

Yeah I have so much drawing stuff man since I'm an art major I have like 20 different point sizes ha ha. I know a lot about tattooing history and all and the tools just have never used em.

My main style is pretty much old school and traditional japanese but pretty much I'll do anything as long as I have a cool idea in my head for it.

Yeah I have been saving the outlines and when I color them I just make a copy of it or trace the one I did in pen and just transfer it ( I like just making a copy better ha ha) I just need to get better at coloring with colored pencils those are only thing I have to color with really and photoshop.
