But I'm crap at shading and whatnot. Good thing I draw cartoons. They don't require shading and stuff. LUCKY~

Shading has always confused me lol. I have yet to find a shading style that i like and want to stick with >.>

Indeed they are! I've tried anime and realism and stuff, but I've never really been able to do them well. Cartoons really are my true calling. I still watch and LOVE them to this day. <3

i'm definitely a stickler for classic cartoons. a lot of the newer stuff i see on the rare occasions i watch TV sort of disappoints me D: but i love the ones i grew up withβ₯ and i respect that you've found your calling in cartoons!

Ah yes! Gotta love the classics, man! But I do like a SELECT FEW of the newer ones. I have a real love for Regular show, and Adventure time isn't too bad. I liked The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack when it was on, but sometimes the creepy grossness of it got to me. And I'm sure you'll find something you like. I like your art the way it is, but if it isn't working for YOU, I understand that. C:

Oh jeez! I know how that goes! I wasn't good at cartoon style at ALL when I started. Getting out of anime was tough, even though I was no good at it to begin with. I just drew my favorite cartoon characters over and over till I got the feel for it. Maybe it works that way with realism? -shrug-

One thing I am NOT good at.
I have friends that are good at that type of thing and drawing next to them makes me feel so inferior.
Not saying my art is BAD, but it's not as impressive.

There is one thing that I find impressive about cartoons though. There are NO references for them. With realism, you can use yourself or another person as a reference for poses and whatnot. Cartoons are so disproportional, that you can't rely on the human figure for positioning. I think it makes it that much more fun. C:
