have you done a male character model? its really hard to find one.

Male characters are harder to do. The facial and chest hair are the worst to create. I tend to stay clear from that headache. lol.

hmm I would just leave it out for the most part though some characters demand those rugged male traits. oh what 3d program are you using it doesn't seem like Z-brush so are you using 3ds max, Maya, or something similar?

depending on what version you are running now. the upgrade only works you are running poser 6. otherwise you have to get the full version but since poser 8 is out now, it should be pretty cheap to find.

Thanks, I messed with my render settings, so there's alot more detail than I had before, but I think I'll stick with that until the price of poser8 goes down.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm modeling everything based on real measurements and all walls (including the bridge wings/cabs) I'm modeling at 4" thick. It used to be 6" which is probably more accurate but the windows looked really thick and bulky ... 4" is a happy medium - it looks better up close I think. Unfortunately the historical record of the ship is pretty sketchy - it's really hard to find nitty-gritty measurements - so some of it is just educated guesswork based on pictures and paintings.
As for hours, I haven't really timed myself, but I've been working on different versions of this model since November. This current stage (which I think is the 7th version) I've been working on for about a week, with anywhere between 2 and 6 hours per day.
