Greetings everyone!!! My name is DROO, I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. I photograph many things, however my love is portrait photography, more specifically cosplay/costuming photography. There is too much I would want to say about why I have a love for it.
How I got into it is a long story...so, here's the short version...
I love everything about conventions. The idea of people with a common love of whatever really appeals to me. I blame Comic Con 1997. I was like a kid in a candy store. I am an old school anime fan. I loved anime before everyone (even I) knew that such fantastical art came from Asia, namely Japan!
It would take me more than just this little writing for me to express the love I have for cosplayers... they are near and dear to my heart. There is not a day in my life I don't think about cosplay. Its become my life.
Fast forward to MTAC 2009 (in Toronto, Canada) walking around an anime convention with my camera. If you know me I don't do anything small...especially my dreams...not to mention my camera! A fellow behind a table/booth called out to me and asked me if I did photos professionally, and the rest is history.
I've been published in Super Kawaii Magazine
When I attend anime/costuming conventions I set up a free photography suite and all in cosplay/costume are welcomed! We all have so much fun and typically a lot of cosplayers hang out at my booth and sometimes a dancing frenzy breaks out! So lovingly I've dubbed the booth the Funtography Suite!
I've taken literally thousands and thousands of photos of different talented cosplayers. I hope one day you will be one of them.
