Loved the books too, just wish their was a game or something for it. Found the Lore to be quite good.

100% Agree, a game where you get to explore the world and do similar quests or something would be amazing~
I was obsessed with all the Lore, especially about how the Ak-baba came to be.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-10-26 10:53:01 +0000 UTC]

Haha, it's been a while for me. I know a game it could be a perfect mod for, just don't have the know how to make it. Did you catch the animated series?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-10-30 07:23:28 +0000 UTC]

Oooo which game would that be?
I think something like Skyrim could do nicely but I also have no clue how to mod. ;u;
As soon as I found out the series existed, I flipped out and hunted for it and watched it. I ended up thoroughly enjoying the series although, from memory, I believe it did skip and change a few things. Wasn't there a weird apparition of the belt at some point that did battle with a giant monster?Β

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-10-30 07:38:38 +0000 UTC]

Can't entirely remember the show, i do remember how it was quite different in many parts to the books. I wasn't actually thinking of Skyrim but that's a damn good idea, an open world RPG set in the world of Deltora could be amazing. I was actually thinking of a game called Crusader Kings 2, it's a strategy game and basically the mod would make you be able to be a ruler in one part of Deltora, but thinking about it, an open world RPG would probably be a thousand times cooler.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-10-30 08:14:17 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, although, it was enjoyable to see a different 'version' of the story.Β
Oh~ A strategy game would be interesting! What if you could choose to be good or evil and try to take over from either side? That'd be awesome, sending out the ak-babas to take over the castle.
I am biased towards open world games though. I love them so much!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-10-30 08:36:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeh, i can really see how it would work as an open world game, even if you only got one of the regions to explore initially. With all the stories and lore you could do so much, make such a brilliant fantasy game. Set it before the land went to shit, in a time when dragons still roamed, or set it during evils rule, or after.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-11-04 13:20:54 +0000 UTC]

Oh~ that'd be awesome! I think seeing a whole bunch of dragons and playing through the world before all the areas were established or just beginning to come about would be really interesting. Maybe they could show the history of the world, or one region, as it was developing into what the books had and you play along maybe as one of the heroes of the past~ Oh! The King maybe!Β

Perhaps we should get in touch with Emily Rodda and make it happen On the subject though, i looked up Deltora Quest on wikipedia and it says Emily Rodda released a new book set in the Deltora world August last year called 'Shadows of the Master'. might be something to check out.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-11-05 12:23:02 +0000 UTC]

Maybe we should. Someone should inform her of the wonders of open world video gamesΒ if she has yet to experience it~
What seriously? I must investigate this important news. >.> Definitely something worth checking out. Any chance you looked into it already and know what the storyline is about?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-11-05 21:07:09 +0000 UTC]

What open world games would we use as examples to show her?
And i don't know about the new book i just saw it on the Deltora Quest wiki page, says some interesting stuff, apparently she sold the rights to make a movie to a prominent Hollywood production company too.Β

I mean- off the top of my head there's Skyrim, Far Cry Primal, Fallout 4~Β
Ohhh interesting, I will have to do some investigation.Β
If they do make a movie, hopefully it won't end up like Eragon ;u; The books were so good but the movie was no where near that!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-11-06 04:21:16 +0000 UTC]

Oh jesus, we do not mention Eragon XD

Also apparently a DS game was released for it in japan. If i were to get into modding i would definitely want to do some stuff with Deltora Quest. Before looking at the wiki i didn't even know it was Australian now i like it even more.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-11-06 23:56:18 +0000 UTC]

Haha true true, it doesn't exist as far as we're concerned.

What!? Japan, please share with us. ;u;
I think that'd be really cool- all the beasts, the setting, the lore. *o* It's practically asking to be made into a video game setting~
It didn't occur to me that we're both Australian. Aaaayyyeee~ that is awesome.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-11-07 00:19:54 +0000 UTC]

I don't know the game itself, on the wiki page i just saw it mentioned, here's a fan wiki page for itΒ deltoraquest.wikia.com/wiki/De…

And yeh, fellow Aussie here While the books were released here first, i think, they've sold over 15 million worldwide. I think a lot of younger Australians of a certain age group would know the books well, whether they've read them as a kid or just seen them around.

That's fabulous, well, the books *are* awesome so not that surprising.
That's true, I was quite young when I first read them...I think it was a while since they came out. Not entirely sure... >.>Β

Ohh okay, yup, same here.Β
Or I suppose, as a little kid I could read picture books and all that but couldn't get through things as wordy or long as Deltora Quest. Haha
I probably didn't read them till 2008/9 maybe? Who knows, it's been quite a few years and my memory sucks. XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dawnsbreaker In reply to RavenKibaWolf154 [2016-11-07 08:05:14 +0000 UTC]

Probably about the same, remember seeing them in my primary schools library. They always had those cool covers with the monster or evil of the book on it, and the hem on the spine, the first one was the topaz gem. I think what may have made me pick it up is how awesome the jallis knight guy on the cover of the first book looked.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-11-07 09:10:59 +0000 UTC]

I agree, the cover designs with all the monsters definitely got my attention. They designed the books really well~Β
I loved drawing fantasy even when I was younger so I was addicted.
Oh yeah! I used to find it so cool that they put each gem on the spine of the books.
Same here, I came for the cover and stayed for the story. Haha~

Mostly dragons.
It'd be nice to find out where my old sketchbooks have gone... I do recall an overly spiky armadillo-like creature, a barracuda x anaconda thing and dragons.Β

Maybe you should do a rendition of the infamous 'drop bear' or the Fearsome giant wombat (which actually existed, it's called a Diprotodon). I see in your gallery you've done mainly Pokemon and a cute dog.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RavenKibaWolf154 In reply to Dawnsbreaker [2016-11-07 09:37:59 +0000 UTC]

Haha, good idea~ drop bears are fabulous and so are prehistoric wombats. Can you imagine if a wombat that size was still roaming around?
That is true, I really should post more often (especially now that I'm drawing different things) ._." Pokemon was the main thing I sketched when I first started, then laziness hit...eesh
