I have suffered a pair of deaths in the family so updating was delayed. One of them was a suicide from the death of the first . . . it's been beyond difficult.

But we're back, and that's a good thing.

Also he had some advertisements on the journal.
He was given a chance to clean up the journal and remove the links to his site outside, he chose not to comply.

Are you by chance the old nude insider administrator?

DeviantNudes In reply to gregmc3 [2007-03-25 03:29:06 +0000 UTC]

Alas, no. Anthony's *thenudeinsider is over due to a number of complications involving advertising on a third party server. *DeviantNudes is a new community created in the hopes of helping fill the void left behind by the community we've all enjoyed.

So out of interest, who's the administrator?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DeviantNudes In reply to Exquire [2007-03-25 03:42:04 +0000 UTC]

That would be me. My name is LC Ryan and I've been a freelance writer for the last eight years. In the past I enjoyed *thenudeinsider as an observer and when the community went down, I thought it fell upon the members, the viewers of that great community, to take up the mantle and move forward. That said, I offer this new place for the artists and fans of the original *thenudeinsider .

We'll be bringing many of the features everyone has enjoyed in the past while keeping everyone's art on site as opposed to placing it onto a different site.

We have taken on some other artists and writers to help us maintain the level of quality one would expect from such a community.

Neat, good on ya. What kind of writing do you do? What's your u/n here?

I'm sure, as a writer, it pained you every time to see the way tNI wrote about member's contributions. I was a bit disappointed to see this (kind of) followed. Can I suggest the following description to go with submission uploads? Maybe you can do even better:

Thanks to ( ) for submitting this to *deviantnudes.

The artist would prefer you to comment and fav the original art submission found here: [link]

*thenudeinsider is a dA user-powered community mag' for lovers of wonderful nudes.

I think this removes most of the self-advertising fluff that was the eventual demise of tNI. I also think it's pretty straight-forward and quickly explains what you're out to do.
By "Editorial comment" I mean that it would be nice if you would leave a little comment with each thing you upload. You might say "Angela is a mysterious newcomer to dA but already has some neat works in her gallery. She tells me she's looking for a photographer in the Rome area so if you know one, get in touch!"

For the "static" content, don't forget that it will be read many thousands of times. I write for a newsletter with a readership of 150,000 people and when I'm writing it I like to pretend that I'm writing a speech to give in front of them. The static copy here will likely reach an audience at least that large over time...

We should get in touch on a less comment-based basis. To answer your question about writing credits, I have written background materials for several MMORPGs such as Eve-Online and World of Warcraft. I've written for some publications but I don't necessarily consider this grounds for qualification for running this community. I think the passion I have for the art community is what makes this something I am capable and should be doing.

Sorry, didn't mean to be "challenging" your credentials or legitimacy! Just putting in some advice.

I think comments are the best place to discuss this so that others can join in if they wish. But not necessarily on your user page. How about you make a journal entry inviting feedback on the way written copy is conducted here?
