It's been so long I'm surprised you still remember me as well ^^ thanks for the birthday wishes, and no worries, I also took a very long break from this website, I'm trying to get back into it ^^

Wishing you all the best as well, I have a bit of catching up to do on here

Oh no. XD You don't have to apologize my old friend. How you've been all this time?

Well kinda, I mean we spoke briefly on Skype a little while ago but that was about it. Apart from that, I completely ditched this place because of multiple reasons. I've posted out a small status update journal if you're by any chance interested, but overall I'm doing as good as I hope to be at the moment ^^ How about you ?

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-04 20:26:36 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I was gonna ditch this joint myself because any new submission won't do shit. Which is why I'm submitting artworks in Instagram. But I'm glad you're doing okay dude. I'm fine myself. Holding on here and there.

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-05 05:07:51 +0000 UTC]

Hum, sorry you feel that way. Whatever I ended up posting was purely as a hobby, so I don't really care if it doesn't lead to anything ^^ You really believe that submissions here don't do anything ? I have a couple friends that have posted on many different sites, whether it's dA, Tumblr, Instagram or whatever, if that's what you're seeking, more exposure is always better

Glad to hear your doing fine though ^^ Any projects you're working on at the moment ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-05 13:51:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I'm looking for other sites for that reason and thanks to Instagram's hashtag system, it'll help bring forth more attention to my work. Tumblr, I hardly get anything like DA and Twitter is more or less of the same but it's basically a blogger site. XD

I'm working on a few, one game, one comic book series.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-05 14:11:58 +0000 UTC]

I haven't really thought about it, as I'm not really active on any other social media site really ^^ Though I hope that you'll get the exposure eventually So I take that you're not signed up to Tumblr nor Twitter ?

That's awesome ^^ What kind of game is it ? Is the comic book an original series ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-05 15:21:54 +0000 UTC]

I have both of them actually. XD

Chrolomon, as I titled, is a platformer game inspired from Donkey Kong Country series and somewhat from Pikmin too since the creatures are pint sized. XD Phill is a different type because of his pear shaped head compare to round or oval shaped headed Chrolomons. He's the protagonist of the game.

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-05 20:19:13 +0000 UTC]

I'm not making a game but I think I have a programming app in my iPad called "Swift Playground" so I can practice coding and maybe design something out of it like a level or character modeling. I also have several drawing apps for concept arts.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-09 06:34:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I get that part. Apple should loosen up because they can still secure their platform with or without some restrictions they practice due to outside threats. I say they're well equipped but you're right. No wonder Apple and Nintendo get along so fondly when they partnered up over Mario Run which is a DRM scam like how Xbox One almost become. XD

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-10 13:15:45 +0000 UTC]

Except for the overpricing problem of Apple with the exception of Wii U because its pathetically built and too expensive for offering the same as last gen for half the price and new consoles NOW cost the same as Wii U while offering more...much more.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-10 14:14:00 +0000 UTC]

Well, the only thing going for it is that it has a few exclusives to boot, and the reason why I currently own one. Smash 4 is a godlike entry to the series ^^ I do hope that they manage to pull it off with the switch, even though I'm currently not particularly interested in it even if the concept is very interesting. It feels like it's do or die this time for them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-11 02:37:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it only has A FEW, nothing more. Smash 4 I don't consider the best because 1. No story/adventure mode and it's Smash Tour Mode is a sad Mario Party imitation compare to 3DS's Smash Run and 2. Way too many clones, OP and swordsman based suckers in the game. Melee had the best gameplay hands down while Brawl had the best production value, roster and single player modes plus more content. I consider Melee as godlike entry because of its tight gameplay and appreciated Brawl for expanding the franchise in a good way. If only it's online mode didn't suck with so much lag though.

The Switch is truly their last chance because it's clear that their fanbase is almost gone thanks to themselves by creating shitty games, lackluster console, hindered online experience, going way to childish with current game offerings by shunning the mature audiences away and treating fanbase like crap over sharing their experiences and fandom on the internet by hitting them with one extremely unnecessary and unfair DCMA notices after another plus taking fans money over YouTube video sharing which is free advertisement for them but those morons don't see that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-11 08:15:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, to each their own opinion. Adventure mode was something nice to have, but when I look back, I only played through it once to get all the characters unlocked and never touched it again. Melee had the tightest gameplay of all, and is surely the best e-sports wise because of all of the advanced techniques that were discovered, but I still prefer the flow offered in the more recent games. Brawl was definitely super slow compared to melee, and 4 is a nice compromise between the two games in my opinion. I'm still playing smash 4 extensively, and it'll probably stay that way for a while ^^

They have done many questionable things obviously. But at least they're trying to innovate with their consoles and offer something that an xbox or ps can't offer compared to my PC (except when they buy exclusives from developers but that's another problem). We'll see how everything turns out. I believe that the next presentation conference is soon.

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-11 14:57:47 +0000 UTC]

No offense, I like Smash 4 for what it offers..except Smash Tour, but due to designing a seperate 3DS which is a better version to me, they're missing out on the point of what makes Melee/Brawl great: fast paced gameplay, less clones and fun modes. Now that I think about it, WTF is Tournament Mode? lol Plus I appreciated Brawl trying to offer a story mode even though it may be generic to some and it was a great way to unlock characters. Also it's coin minigame is good too to unlock trophies and stickers instead of just buying them straight off. I don't enjoy the modes of Smash 4 on Wii U because they're lackluster to 3DS and their online play still lags even if they improved it..only slightly from Brawl. XP I do like the character/stage DLCs but the Mii costumes can go fuck off because there so many and they're expensive to get, also I find some of them kinda insulting because I see K. Rool suit but no K. Rool, same for Dark Samus, Krystal, Dixie Kong, Paper Mario or Shantae. All I see is an orgy of clones and Fire Emblem character which I don't give a shit about except Ike since he can be helpful sometimes.

Yeah, Nintendo Switch event is coming in a couple of days and I have nothing but dread in me about it. One fuck up from the event can cost Nintendo the console market forever this time and end up like Sega producing nothing but Mario/Zelda games, maybe Mario Kart, Splatoon and rarely Super Smash Bros. but they'll bury the rest of the better franchises like Metroid. I'm praying that won't be the case but I have a feeling they would go there because of their arrogance towards their own fanbase and third parties.

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-12 17:14:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, everyone has their own opinion, I'm not trying to convince you or anything, I just genuinely like Smash 4, and I like playing it locally with buds like I always do ^^ The only thing that I thought was kinda disgusting was the fact that you had to pay DLC on the Wii U and 3DS, that was a kick in the balls ^^" But other than that, I have no major complaints

I hope they pull it off as well. Though it's nice that they're interesting themselves in the mobile market, I fear that it's all they'll be doing if they every loose their grip on the console market.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-13 20:46:12 +0000 UTC]

But the DLCs are okay for the most part, except the costumes for Miis like I mentioned. XP I don't hate Smash 4, I just wish there was more to offer.

Anyway, I saw the Switch presentation yesterday with, of course, very little anticipation because I'm still angry and skeptical at Nintendo. But thank god the Region Lock is gone, the price point is around $250-300, the controller(s) aren't shoved up your ass like Wii U Gamepad and Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a launch title. But I'm waiting to see what third party games besides Skyrim is coming, I hope Battlefield 1 is among them. The battery is..questionable but hopefully there will be an extender attachment from the USB-C port. The power of the Switch is roughly similar to PS4 which is good news and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Oddessy and Splatoon 2 are all coming this year so that's already 4 big flagship Nintendo titles for the new system with another 80+ 3rd party games coming so that's almost 100 games in its first year. Fuck yeah. But I'm still wondering about one little missing detail...WHERE THE FUCK IS MY METROID PRIME 4?!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-14 07:28:24 +0000 UTC]

Fair enough ^^

I didn't watch the actual presentation, but I followed-up with all the news coverage it had.

It sucks that it'll cost 320€ here in Europe, that feels like a serious kick in the balls. I don't know if I'll be an early adopter of the Switch because of that, since I'm mostly waiting for the new Zelda game that I'll be able to play on the Wii u anyway, I don't think I can afford cashing in on a new console at this point with what it has to offer. I'm also very sad to see that they're going the $ony and Micro$oft way making users pay for online services...
It's definitely promising though. We'll see how the first months pan out. But we can tell that they're putting everything on the line with this console, which isn't a bad thing ^^
I guess Metroid will come at one point, they're already working on quite a few games like you said ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-14 22:24:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure it'll start off strong for the month and then work up from there with monthly killer app games coming. March is Zelda, April is MK8 Deluxe and so forth. I was hoping for a major 3rd party game like Battlefield 1 or something. But I can say the launch is disappointing and also alarming knowing full well how the Wii U went down when it launched. Seeing no good third party available at the start is uneasy and got some people raging and scared that this is Wii U all over again. I even hear some dumbasses wanting to stay on the Wii U and call Switch redundant when the most of the fanbase has abandoned the platform and the Wii U version of Zelda look like shit come to the obviously definitive BotW on Switch. It's blurry, frame rate is choppy and nothing but neon glows everywhere.

Anyway, I'm still unsure if I should get it launch or wait another month or two to see what see it'll have by then. Reggie did mention Metroid but I fear for the worst of it, coming from after that trash Federation Force. Not sure how online will be better but if it's half the cost compare to Xbox Live and has enough features as Xbox Live, then that's okay. I'll bite. XP But I only see one online game and that's MK8, not even enough to warrant the cost of playing online if it hardly has any online games to go with.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-18 22:20:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm still feeling rather skeptical overall. I think that my Wii u is still plenty enough for now, especially now since my phone just flat out died on me, I don't think I can reasonably fit the switch in my budget for the next few months...
I still just game on PC most of the time, I still own Nintendo consoles for their IP which I have grown up with and still enjoy to this date. I can definitely wait until the end of the year to consider buying it though. Like you said, there aren't enough interesting launch titles, except the new Zelda which will be on the Wii u anyway. I don't mind if the quality is subpar compared to the Switch, I'm sure that I can live with that ^^

Online is definitely not worth it for me. I don't play online with randoms anyway, and a lot of my friends who I used to game with don't play on consoles anymore, so I usually only end up playing multiplayer locally.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-19 00:05:53 +0000 UTC]

Aye. Sorry about your phone. It's fine if you wanna stay behind and PC/Indie may be the last resort for gamers in terms of affording what they truly want. I wish the best for the Switch but right now, it's almost like it's repeating Wii U once again with the launch line up and missing out on thousands more sales. Had it have Battlefield 1 along side with Zelda, guaranteed, it'll gain those skeptical customers back.

IDK if I should just go with Steam gaming instead of Switch and such. I'm selling my other 3 consoles to try to upgrade.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-19 08:39:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, PC isn't a last resort for me, it's truly the platform I enjoy the most gaming on ^^ I have never owned an xbox or ps for those reasons. Way more affordable, and way more bang for your buck if you know how to build your own system. Not to mention that games are way cheaper in general, and you have a beefy computer for your everyday tasks as well. I don't regret that one bit ^^

Nintendo consoles have always offered something different that the xbox and ps don't have (save for the few exclusives which I don't really care about), which is why I still buy from them. I'll wait until the end of the year at least to make my own opinion on the Switch's game lineup, which will hopefully be better off than how it'll be on launch day

You're trying to upgrade your PC at the moment ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-19 15:19:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Now all three major gaming platforms besides Steam is now charging for online and now suddenly people wanna make it an outrage about it...but Sony and Microsoft especially was doing it for years. Now it's a problem when Nintendo jumps in, probably because that was the last thing in many gamer's minds of Nintendo doing even though it was inevitable. XP I'm probably gonna move to Steam when I have the money for their console but the support is getting mill and player count is dropping because they're losing some to the other 3.

I only have my iPad Pro as my sole computer system. XD But I do enjoy some games there like Yu-Gi-Oh, Asphalt 8, Dust, Pac-Man and such. XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-21 10:44:41 +0000 UTC]

The day Steam ever charges for their online services, there will be a revolt like no tomorrow. I doubt that'll ever happen. And we have every right to be outraged in my opinion, I never expected Nintendo going down that route and find it rather ridiculous, especially considering the services that they actually offer which are far less than what other consoles seem to be offering these days.

I'll just stick with my free online Steam services thank you very much. No need to pay a premium for basic features such as online functionality in my opinion.

PC gaming is arguably doing better than ever, they're not particularly loosing any players, and the numbers keep on rising. Not to mention that there are also other services such as uplay and origin, so this doesn't even reflect the total number of players. www.statista.com/statistics/30…

I could never live with just a tablet as a sole computer system I just can't get away from everything that a classic desktop has to offer ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-21 15:07:24 +0000 UTC]

Then that's it. Gaming market will get hit HARD in the balls for pulling a dick move like that since Microtransactions. Pretty soon, they're not gonna see much money anymore.

And what doesn't make any sense is why pay $60 for one year when I'm paying the same rate every single fucking MONTH?! X(

i know tablet isnt isn't your forte but it's not remotely as downscaled or bad in any way. But like I said, it's your taste of preference.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dragon-Minded In reply to PBJArts [2017-01-23 13:07:09 +0000 UTC]

That's for sure. I doubt Valve would ever pull something off like that. They already make plenty enough with the cut they get for every sale. Charging for the service would be pure greed at this point and will not be digested easily by the millions that log in every single day.

I'm not implying that either, I know first hand that many users can do plenty with just a tablet. I recommend tablets to many people that I know because I know that they wouldn't need any additional functions than what those devices offer. I just need a bit more from my computing devices
I generally try not to hate devices. For example, I don't own any Apple products, but I certainly understand their appeal and why some people would pay extra for those devices. Same goes for gaming consoles (that aren't made by Nintendo). At the end of the day, the only thing that matters it that you enjoy the products you use ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PBJArts In reply to Dragon-Minded [2017-01-23 15:01:29 +0000 UTC]

Yeah and seeing people are reacting towards Nintendo charging for online play, it's begging to look like a revolt towards that is growing and the second Valve does it, it's gonna explode to make them lose money. They should just make online play free with or without chat system and such while charging only like $30 a year for said features to be enabled to be fair both ways.

i know tablets aren't exactly ready yet to replace actual PC for complex computing operations and, especially this one, PC gaming. XP Maybe another decade PC will be almost extinct but relatively still alive in another form just like TV. XD
