I'm changing the tricks all the time. I think I have tried matte techniques a few times. Even 3D at a point. Usually I paint from multiple references. Sometimes there's only inspirational images. But I do have a habit of overworking the piece until it looks realistic enough for me.

well, maybe you could register as a legal entity(not sure how it's called in your country)? that's what i need to do too in order to use Patreon etc.
there is always an option to do commissions using paypal, if you do not use it already.
