# About me

Hi!

As you might have noticed my gallery exists mostly out of watercolour paintings. Some day I hope to make my own illustrations for a book, but for now we just practice :).
I will spend my time doing a variaty of subjects, birds, landscapes or portraits it will all be necessary on the long run.
I stream my progress at Twitch Creative in the hope to motivate others and maybe even learn them a bit!

Other than drawing I'm a student Industrial Design Engineering and hoping to graduate this year!

You have more questions? Feel free to ask :)

Happy birthday! I give you the gift of knowledge:

A grizzly bear has a bite force of 8,000,000 pascals, which is strong enough to crush a bowling ball with ease.

Good evening, Eyliana. Thank you for dropping by earlier and viewing my work. Thank you even more for sharing your own art and artistic process. I'm an older fellow (62), but several years ago I returned to the university at a late age to finally finish. My graduation project was a 7-1/2-minute digital animation that took me a year to create. So, I can appreciate the time, effort and pressures you may be going through as a student, as well those involved in finding the job that can support your passions afterwards. Keep up the fight. (I know you will, but just wanted you to know that I support and applaud you.)
Cheers,
Ed

Hey, thank you for stopping by!
It's always impressive when older poeple try to pick up university to learn something new, it is too easy to stick to what you are used to. And I don't think I would have the patient to create such animation, or animation in general. I was wondering, are you working as an artist now as results of your studies?
I'm not studying art thoug, I study Industrial Design Engineering with a focus towards sustainable development. So at the moment I'm trying to combine that with studying drawing on my own. And to be honest, it's a struggle since graduating itself is tiresome business.
Thank you for the support, much appreciated

emcorpus In reply to Eyliana [2016-02-05 16:52:17 +0000 UTC]

Good evening, Eyliana. Art has been my passion all my life, at least since the age of 3. I worked many jobs. None of them were art-related in themselves, although I tried to sneak in my abilities whenever I could. I mostly had traditional skills, but finishing with a degree in graphic design allowed me to add digital skills that I could now apply to art. Currently I work in graphic design. (Actually, though it's evening where you are, I'm just starting my workday here. It's early and no one is looking over my shoulder, so I can write to you at the moment.    ) This particular job is not creative -- I have to make designs they tell me to make. But it pays well enough that I can support my true passions in creating art. Maybe one day I will be financially "successful" as an artist, maybe not. But in my eyes, I'm already a success. I commend you on your industrial engineering for sustainable development. I need not look further than one of my favorites -- Leonardo da Vinci -- as an example of an engineer and artist. I would suggest if you haven't already done so to look up George Rhoads and other kinetic artists who have backgrounds in engineering of one kind or another; Theo Jansen's Strandbeest; the artists of Burning Man, etc., etc. I hope these inspire you to continue to practice art, along with your engineering. I'm confident you'll be a success -- whatever you do with your skills, talents and passions. Maybe I'll write a blog on my website about our conversation.
Best regards,
Ed

Good afternoon (?) Time zones are a funny thing .

Making your own things is always nicer, but money to do stuff with is also a nice thing.
Those examples are really nice, I love the Strandbeest. Although with my art I'm not really looking in that direction, I love fantasy and designing characters more than structures.
What I do notice is the way I learn things, a lot of artists are intuitive in how they draw, I have to teach it myself in a very technical and constructive way.
Here is some stuff I did in college if you are interested: amil-marith.deviantart.com/gal… . Not using that account anymore, anyways .

If you decide to write a blog about it, let me know, I would love to read it .

New SharpenedEdge Rules update:Welcome Fellow SharpenedEdge Members
After much deliberation with SharpenedEdge's staff we have drawn up an update on our gallery rules.  Some work that was accepted in the past will no longer be accepted.  We cannot please everyone, so am sure some people will not like our UPDATED RULES.  As most of our members know, we do not like to decline work as we do not like to have our own work declined, but we have found out, that there are some art that we cannot in good conscience accept anymore.  We WILL continue to move pictures that are accidentally submitted to the wrong folder, but please help us and keep it to a minimum.  Your help is greatly appreciated.  We will continue to attempt to comment on all pieces, but there will be noted exceptions which will be listed below.  We will still try to give mini critiques when possible, but if you really want one, please ask, and we will do our best to do so.  In return we do ask that our members
