Wow, looks interesting!
By the way, Olga was very talanted person at music and aquarelle painting. Others said about her that "If Olga Romanova wasn't knyazna (emperor's daughter) she could earn for life being a pianist".
Aaand as for weather.. Although stereotypes, Russia is very different. At South, for example, Sochi and peninsula Crimea (there was Romanovs' summer house!) real winter never happens (no snow, sometimes at New Year people can walk in swimsuits). But yeah, the bigger part of country is pretty cold, especially North (Arkhangelsk, Murmansk) and Siberia (Oimyakon, the record of cold temperature on the continent, google it)
As for me, I live in Moscow and there are just normal?? Last winter was too warm and we rarely saw snow and ice and etc :<
So.. Big country. Very big country
