My 'Imprisoned Bride' picture now has 6 favs. Dunno how, but it does. Your Dizzy picture wins hands down on the number of views, however.

Where is your Street Fighter fan art? I had a long conversation with someone about Street Fighter and the SNES on Sunday.

Flaming-Manakin In reply to Larissa-Bright [2006-02-22 17:44:07 +0000 UTC]

ummm...it just wasn't very good. I did Karin, but it wasn't really anything special... I can't think how you sustained a long street fighter conversation given you don't know how to play it!!!

Are we going to have a faving war? I'm sure I could make Dizzy get more favs if I wished and beat you. Anyway, these favs are all a bit of nonsence really. The metis and rika pictures are better than dizzy and have a paltry one fav between them.

Larissa-Bright In reply to Flaming-Manakin [2006-02-22 18:46:48 +0000 UTC]

No, we're not playing fav war, because that would be silly.

I was telling the person about Street Fight Alpha, because he hadn't played it. I can easily give the appearence of knowing more than I do... and I have played it a few times, though not enough to be able to chat about "who kicks butt" etc.

I think the general consensus is that Akuma, Cammy, Ryu and (strangely) Zangief are the post powerful characters in Street Fighter Alpha. Sakura and Fei Long are also reckoned to be pretty good as well.

Being good at fighting games is a sure fire way to impress boys- almost as good as being able to handle a pool cue- if you get a chance to prove your mettle, that is.

I always played M Bison, vega, dee jay, guile, ken, and chun li. Although playing dhalsim and just using the slide again and again was the most annoying way to win.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Flaming-Manakin In reply to monoplasm [2006-06-17 11:49:10 +0000 UTC]

You could also use the slide with Vega to kill opponents cheaply- at least on the traditional street fighter 2 on the SNES. Have you played Street Fighter Alpha 3?- it has all the good old characters and some really cool new ones as well.

My best character to play as in the traditional street fighter was Ryu against good players, although Ken was better for trashing newbies. I always liked chun li as well and Sagat was also nasty.

I used to like sagat and m bison on the championship edition when they were really powerful. I've not played the alpha 3 version. I did play the Playstation 3d one which I liked though.

Flaming-Manakin In reply to monoplasm [2006-06-20 22:14:50 +0000 UTC]

Never played the 3D one- seen pictures of it though. Alpha 3 is a wonderful game- you'll still be good with your favorite characters- the game still 'feels' the same. Grappler characters like Zangief are better though, and fireball attacks are rather weaker.

Ha ha, in that case maybe I should work on my Street Fighter skills in the vacation. There's a fat chance of me playing pool!

Wow man, you're quick.
I saw you on your fellow Cambridge student Larrisa Bright's page.
It may interest you to know I am her brother- and also a Cambidge student for that matter (embarking on a PhD at Selwyn from October this year!)

You seem to be a bit of an artistic wizard. I'll check out your gallery later, although I doubt I'm really good enough to be able to offer you much in the way of constructive criticism.

Have fun doing your PhD. Whatcha doing?
