Hey man, how's it going? What have you been playing recently? I just got Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Quest For Glory 3 and Quest For Glory 4. I have a Fighter and Thief quests left to finish for the 3rd game, whereas my Paladin and Magic User are ready to tackle the 4th game (I'm looking forward to it).

What I'm doing is completing all classes in a single game first before I move onto the next game, rather than move onto the next game after finishing just 1 class.

If you do have the Quest For Glory games (especially from gog), I recommend playing the original QFG1 rather than the VGA remake. I suggest taking your time and building your character (and wealth) up in the first game; you'll be off to a great start in the 2nd game when you do.

$10 for 5 (6 if you consider the first game remake a separate game) games isn't a bad deal. Let me know when you have got the games and are ready to get started.

Maybe, I can't seem to buy games from GoG with what I've got right now. Also, I don't mind getting RPGs, but right now I'm kind of going through an action games kicks. BTW, do you know any good action games, or action RPGs I would be interested in? I've been eying MDK and Lost Planet for a long time.

Well, for consoles at least, I'd play Dynasty Warriors and/or Warriors Orochi to satisfy that hack n slash urge. Available on consoles, portables, and PC, you can play Ys 1 & 2 (The port you would probably want to get is the Turbo CD one available on the Wii Virtual Console).

Cool, thanks for the suggestions.

I've also got Onicharbara: Bikini Samurai squad, and yes it's cheesy, but kind of fun at the same time.

Heard of Quest for Glory? LOL, I love the series, even though I never had the patience to play through one. I've played a few seconds of the first one, and a lil bit of the second one, but the one I want to play the most is the fourth one, cause of it's blend of Humor and Horror.

I highly recommend you check out Hero U. It's an RPG in the same vein as Quest for Glory, created by the same people, that's currently being made.

Yes, friends you and I know have already told me about Hero-U.

Technically, Quest For Glory 4 was the first game in the series I played back when it was just released on CD-ROM. Never really got far because of compatibility issues some of the times and I think there were some programming bugs/glitches that prevented us from getting far.

anime-underdog In reply to Garvis [2012-12-23 23:03:48 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, sadly I've heard it was one of the more buggy games in the series. I never got to ask you, what class are you playing in the first game?

Garvis In reply to anime-underdog [2012-12-23 23:20:23 +0000 UTC]

I finished that game with a Fighter already, currently working on Magic User and Thief next after that one. Planning to play through each game with all 3 characters (though for the Fighter, I want to promote him to Paladin).

anime-underdog In reply to Garvis [2012-12-24 04:14:14 +0000 UTC]

Finished already? Is it really short, or pretty epic? It being half point and click, I assumed the game would take a little longer to finish.

Garvis In reply to anime-underdog [2012-12-24 16:34:42 +0000 UTC]

I'd say the majority of the time is spent stat grinding (raising Vitality, Strength, Parry, Dodge, Climbing, Lockpicking, Stealth, Magic, Spells, etc.), although solving the puzzles (which feels reasonably different than standard Sierra On-Line adventure games) aren't quick things either. The length is pretty decent, but remember, the game was designed so that you could try to finish the game with all 3 character classes with each different puzzle solutions or methods; the game isn't quite finished yet when you count overall. I've only finished one out of the three so far (working on Magic User now), and I didn't just start it, I've been playing it for awhile now.

It's a pretty fun experience still.

Cool. There's a color remake of the sequel people can download, I might check that out now, since your on the subject of QfG series.

AGD Interactive's Quest For Glory 2 VGA remake? Yes, I've heard about that a long while ago. I personally prefer playing the original versions instead of the remakes, official (like Sierra remakes of each first game themselves) or otherwise. I wonder if there's news about remaking Quest For Glory 3.
