Hey I was looking for some help with my Lapis cosplay if you could, I saw your wig for her on fb and I've been trying to get a new wig I got to work.. But honestly I've never styled one and am too scared to cut it. It's all In my face!! x)
Do you have tips for cutting and styling? I really want to get the shape of her hair right. I don't understand terms like weft and such??

For cutting I recommend looking up tutorials on youtube.
For styling: got2be hairspray + a blowdryer are MAGIC.

Hi there! I just wanna say real quick that I LOVE all your cosplays!
So for Halloween, my friends and I were thinking of going as the three Homeworld Gems from Steven Universe, and we were each gonna make our own costumes. We agreed that I was going as Peridot (and not just because Peridot is my birthstone lol XD).
I personally think that your Peridot cosplay is the BEST that I've seen so far, as I was wondering if you could possibly…how do I put this…give a list of the materials you used and how you made the costume?

So for the clothes I got a sleeveless dance suit from the label "Katz" on Ebay and high waist, black pants.
As well as light green lights which I made into sleeves for my upper arms.
The collar will be made of thin foam so that it'll be sturdy.
For the gauntlets and boots I got EVA foam and yoga mats.
The yoga mats are softer and easier to work with - but not as sturdy. I used them to make the gauntlets, diamonds and lower boot parts.
The main boots are out of EVA foam.
For working with foam I highly recommend getting a heat gun (they aren't very expensive) so that you can bend it.
Before painting them, seal them with wood glue or the foam will suck up the color pretty badly.
Next is the wig.
I used two wigs, cardboard and lots of got2be hairspray.

The gem can be easily made out of clay (I didn't have any resin either). Thermoplastic, light clay (or worbla leftovers, if you have some lying around) would be best.
Here paint is the key for a nice effect. I mixed acrylic paints (green, silver and gold) with a metallic effect and slight glitter. After drying I sealed it with clear nailpolish.
A tipp: Try looking at effect nailpolish! These are cheap and do great for such small paint-jobs.
The visor was simply cut out of a 2l water bottle and will be painted with glass paint.
Last but not least: the skin paint.
If you live in the usa (unlike me haha) you will have good chances to get your hands on various brands of bodypaint. The most recommended ones are Mehron, Snazzaroo, Ben Nye and Kryolan. If you don't have an airbrush, always apply with a sponge.
I, personally have tried out Kryolan and Ben Nye and both are pretty great.
Maybe look up "Sillyfarm" - I heard they have stores across the USA.
I hope I haven't forgotten something, because that was... more than I thought it was haha

Hm I got three mats (one is still unused, the other two are both still not all used) and 8 EVA mats. For the boots I used 4 EVA mats so far. :/
You only get the EVA ones in sets of 6 or 8, I think.
