I like this one because of the lack of face, actually. I love the simplicity of it as compared to the others, the general lack of inner pattern, just a basic outline. I like the color. But most of all the blank face reminds me of something that scared the hell out of me as a kid--have you seen "The Phantom Tollbooth," the cartoon they made out of it? The Giver of Pointless Tasks, or whatever he's called, has a face like that... and he sort of gave me my first nightmares about hell.

I've not seen this cartoon, but, I supsect it's something I'd enjoy, and shall have to look into it. Creepy children's entertainment has a special place in my heart. These nightgaunts, this faceless creature here, are amongst my favorite to draw. There's something about their elegant simplicity, the wings, the horns, the tail, that tend to come together into a pleasant arrangement. And it's strange how much that lack of a face can convey. . .
