You're mainly a character designer? That's interesting.
I never really thought of what kind of artist I am. I can draw characters I guess, but I don't always get the style just like the source material.
I also can't draw backgrounds very well. I have a lot of practice to do.

I remember feeling the same way not all that long ago.
I would stress out over which artist label I fell under, and I spent so much of my time trying to measure up to other people's work.Β I'd think things like: "What's wrong with me? Everyone else seems to know what's going on, why am I the only one having so much trouble!!!!".Β And it took a lot out of me, and often left me feeling inadiquate.
It happens to the best us.
My advice would be to try your best not worry about labels like "Character Designer","Concept Artist" or anything else for that matter. What you should focus on is what YOUR interests are, and what YOU enjoy drawing. As you focus in on that, you'll figure out where you want to go with your art, and reveal the weaknesses that stand in the way of your goals. And it's perfectly fine if those goals don't fall under a label.Β
Anyways, I wish you the best with your artistic journey! And hope you find enjoyment in whatever path you make for yourself.
