I guess this is very late reply, but if you are still interested, PM me, I don't really understand what you mean by "structure base for digital work".

No, really, I am not going to discuss politics on this site I don't like to discuss it at all. I am too naive and idealistic to not get hurt

Hei! (:
I'm writing about the closure options for your third book. Since you said you wanted to paint a design on the cover, I thought it would make sense to have two closure straps at the top and bottom so it would leave room in the middle for the picture. If you want one in the middle, that is of course also possible!
What I have in mind is that the cords or strings I bind your book on will also work as the closure. To make a strong connection between the covers and the cords, I would 'weave' them through the cover boards (difficult to explain; I hope the pictures below shows what I mean! :^^' and they can then be bound with a knot or bow at the front edge.
Here are a few links that show different options:
[link] this is pretty much what I have in mind, but without binding over the strings at the back.
[link] Here you can see what I mean about the binding. I would bind it like this over either round cords or flat bands (I have no lace though), and I can leave the whole back exposed like here, or cover the pages and leave the cords/bands visible, or cover the whole back.
(The yellow thing is supposed to be a star to represent your design you want to draw on the cover. I'm bad at digital painting, and I only have a laptop mousepad )

Hi
I've been thinking of this for a while. Actually this option was what I meant by "ribbon" option when I was writing the description. I didn't want to have it with bow or knot. But the one with one broad band in the middle looks interesting. So I was thinking how to do it without need of the knot or bow - two things came to my mind:
1) velcro on the side or on top
2) small hooks
Either way, please cover the back.
What do you think?
Just for reference, my original idea looked like 3)
1) and 2) would look something like this:

Okay, great! I can do velcro or go find a buckle, and I can also work a small magnet and thin bit of metal into the closure (it won't be visible; I'll cover it with the material I use for the strap). I don't know why I didn't think of that before - I think it might be the most elegant and hassle-free solution (no velcro getting stuck to your sleeves...).
The thing I like about the buckle is that it works as part of the whole design of the book and gives it a down-to-earth kind of feel.
So anyway, I can do velcro or buckle or magnet; just let me know what you prefer! (:
What colour do you want for the strap? Also dark green, or something else?

Gwenthyr In reply to svenmarie [2011-06-01 23:12:57 +0000 UTC]
Well, I wanted the buckle from the start so if you can do it, then buckle it is, I like the look of it too. But the magnet is great idea, I also don't know why I didn't think of that, especially with so many small notebooks with the magnets in our stores nowadays... Oh my, doesn't matter...
The color is very good question.... I had to think about it for a while... What do you think about black strap and then the three bookmarks could be black, dark grey and grey, ending with metal beads, so it would fit each other and the strap?
But if you think that wouldn't look good, I can stick with dark green
All the metal parts on the book should be silver or "old" silver... if that isn't a problem of course.
Thank you again for all the thought and work you put in it
