you haven't answered my question: why do you think they are uncreative? and how does that differ from any other depiction of a landscape?
I'd say that fantasy landscapes *could* be more original than normal landscapes, because the artist isn't bound as much with the normal limits of physics and nature.
the only limits are the creativity and skill of the artist. therefor there are creative and uncreative fantasy landscapes ^^.

anyway, if there is any advice you could give, I'd be happy to hear it.

well, they usually like it a lot more if you give them something 'personal', so that's ok.
and I'm broke too, all the time
Even when I have money I'm broke, 'cause I allready know where I'm gonna spend it on (which is usually the drums )

now why on earth would you want that?
you have a very distinct style of drawing, I really like it.
It's not always good to draw realistically, usually, it's better to make slight deformations to accent emotions in your drawings.

all I can advise you is to go to a library or something, and search for books about drawing.
important things are proportions and anatomy.

I usually first draw a loose sort of bone structure, and I draw the muscles and skin on top of that.

If you get the proportions right from the beginning, you just can't go wrong.

but it's important to first get them right BEFORE you start drawing details, otherwise you notice your mistakes too late, and you can erase half the drawing.

search for books with animals and humans in different poses and start drawing them.
a really nice excercise is to draw a picture you see in a book, but from a different perspective. you learn an awesome lot from that.
