It's best to start in the 2.02, then once you have got to grips with the basics use the 3D version, the difference is amazing Can't wait to see what you create!

It does, i usually have about 2-4 hours to wait, rendering large in high qaulity is annoying xD

i render at about 1600 x 1300 and at very high quality Just need to be able to go off and leave it for a few hours

I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS4. Other good programs are Corel Painter and ArtRage (I got it with my tablet). But if you want a good, free alternative, try GIMP.
