I haven't been drawing manga-style lately. But I have been doing some writing, and I'm starting to get motivated towards a short graphic-novel style story. It's not even in the beginning stages yet, just a twinkle in my eye, but I hope to nurture it into something interesting. It's so hard to predict where my creativity will take me... I am a slave to it, I swear I have no choice in the matter!

Im ok, a little bummed. Im actually back because my publisher is tanking -_-;;; Not exactly the best circumstances. Time to get a real job! lol Other than that Im just hangin out with family. I live in a house full of women its insane. All my sisters are like "LETS WATCH ROMANTIC COMEDIES" Im all "LETS WATCH DRAGONBALL"
its very awkward. But its kind of nice living with family again.

I'm doing good ^__^ I am working a lot and wish I want more creative time, but honestly I'm in a good place. Right now I'm writing the next chapter of this: [link]

As far as graphic novels go, I don't know what the story is yet XD All I know is that I want to do one soon-ish. I miss the lovely simplicity of pen and ink on paper. So I'm going to keep writing random stuff that pops into my head and hope something comes out of it ^__^

Haha sometimes its good to take a break from drawing and just write for a while though, thats how you wind up choosing a great story to work with, kind of like a filtering system xD

Have you thought about joining Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI)? That's how I've got my first book with Walker Books.....worth a thought

I am a member of SCBWI (joined about a year and a half ago). It's really cool that you got a book deal through them! When I finish my new portfolio, I'll send it out and hope for some good results.

Dunno how your SCWBI works over your way but in WA they set up critique sessions with publishers. Face-to-face contact makes a HUGE difference!
