mmmm you're welcome.
Usually I just ignore "thank you for the fave" comments, but you make this every time and it kinda makes me feel bad.

Yep.
As long as its been since XGRA, there is a possibility that we will get another game. Throwback Games took a while to start making games.
Also of interest; I was looking for an image for my story when I came across this:

Extreme G fans are fucking hardcore.

That's fucking cool!
A few of the pictures I have made recently are influenced by XG, but I have yet to upload them.
Are Throwback finally doing something with it? I thought the rights got sold onto WePlay or some shitty-named company like that?

Throwback was formed a decade ago. Only a few years back did they actually start making games on a regular basis. They have a few titles out and if they purchased the rights to Acclaim's library I should well think they want their money's worth. It's not a huge market but the Extreme G fans I know are still patiently waiting.
It's weird. I know the games are flawed when compared against others. Even XGRA had some AI flaws and yes...Deathstrike was the cheapest thing in a racing game since the blue shells from Mario Kart.
But the writing in that series was amazing. It gave life to a game that already had things going for it. The scenery, the sounds, the fucking soundtrack of...EVERY game...
It would be a huge waste if someone didn't try to reboot it or be inspired from it.
As for being sold to Weplay...I don't know.

Did they? I thought I remember hearing that they sold a lot of the assets on, and I was sure another Korean company (WeGo or WePlay or something) that was selling spare PS2 parts had the license to a few good Acclaim games. It was about four/five years ago though..
But I agree with you completely, it does need a reboot or even to touch on the idea gain...soooo you might be happy to hear me and my buddy are working on something similar using Unreal Engine.
Here's a link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=erXuHqβ¦
It's at a very early stage at the moment.

I want to play that.
I have an undying love for combat racing (Mario Kart seems to be the only modern game left that does it) and combining that with motorcycles. One of the things that made the XG so memorable to me was the storytelling. There weren't really cutscenes in those games and they didn't have the budget or the time, so it all went in the instruction manuals. I remember reading the XGRA development diaries on IGN and being absolutely hyped as fuck for the features that they wanted in the game, and when that didn't happen it was sort of obvious that executive meddling went on.
I will beta test that game and be VERY happy about it. Like I've put too many hours into things like the XG series and F-Zero.
And I was going to say this looked similar to

Haha thanks!
I feel the same too, not many driving games around where you can play that style, especially not the futuristic kind. I too remember the backstory in the game, it was really cool. The idea of the characters and rivalries was pretty good, but I feel they went about it really badly... for a start, most of the voice acting wasn't that great, and some of the dialogue was so cheesy. It also got repetetive after a short while.
We'd love to have you test it! As soon as we have a playable demo I'll let you know.
I see what you mean about TR Zero, that looks really cool!
