I'm surprised you both found me and know who I am, but I sadly must say that I do not retain many memories from my senior year. As you may recall, it was a bit hectic and traumatic for us seniors (new regime, katrina, etc) and I've attempted to suppress much of the contempt I felt for the events that occurred that year. However, as a result, I lost memories of many wonderful acquaintances, forever branding that year as a big heap of anger and loss.


That being said, the above was my elaborate way of asking for your name. Were you in the flute section? I really can't recall any of my kids being all that horrid at marching.

Finding you was by pure chance; Anne-san is a friend of mine, and apparently, you know her, too. As for remembering you, it may be the fact that I have a freakishly odd memory. 2005 was a bad year in general, but I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your senior year. Anyways, I'm Bin, and yeah, flutie. (Although I must shamefully admit I haven't touched my flute in long while.)

OH! Bin Lin, correct? I DO remember you! I don't know Anne-san personally, but she is a friend of my cousin - who directed her to my DA account.

Don't be ashamed at neglecting your flute for a while. I haven't seen mine since Gustav, and a year prior to that the time before last. Its ok to not like/want to play your flute.

I sometimes miss it though. I can hardly listen to symphonic bands perform without tearing up. Maybe I'm crazy, I don't know. XD

I hope all is well on your end! Are you a senior this year?

Yes, indeed.

I love the flute, but my freshman year left me pretty spiteful of it and band in general. Hopefully, I can get back to it and playing again in college.

Things are fine here; senior year is almost over, like 9 weekish left, and anxiously waiting to get the hell of Northshore.

I gotcha. Being almost finished is a wonderful feeling. But WOW. I can't believe my freshmen are soon graduating. Its a sobering feeling. You'll know what I mean when you're in my place.

I'm old now. I hit 21 last month, and I'm more than halfway done with college (that is to say 3 more semesters after spring). I don't know how I feel about that, since I'm ready to be done with school, but I will sorely miss the socialization. Post-college, I want to go to China and teach English... pre-graduation, I'm hoping that I'll get to go study over there for a bit, but if I do that, I'll potentially be setting myself back further on my graduation deadline.

In the meantime, I mentally weave beautiful and intricate story lines that never get written and procrastinate from doing my coursework, in favor of procrastinating from drawing.

I actually drew something this week! But, also, I slacked on everything else. Yet, I find that the only time I can find a moment to draw is when I have no moment to draw. I need to stop pushing things off and just get at them.

Alas, I'm motivationally impaired and ingesting a medication that only intensifies my ailment: the internet.

That's my life in a nut shell.

Going to China? Oh wow, that's really awesome. Do you have any idea what parts of China? My fam comes from Fuzhou, Fuijian, and I come back in the summers sometime. Sadly, my Mandarin sucks. I'm hoping to learn it in college.

I really am not exactly sure where. I guess it would depend on what program I would be going with as to where they would send me. Preferably somewhere that speaks Mandarin, as its what I'm trying to force myself to learn. I was thinking Nanjing for a long while, but I've started looking at a different program recently in Chengdu. I don't know if I'll get to do either of them, as I have no funds to put towards this.

I have been keeping up with art, actually, and I feel a lot better for it. I've been working on coloring something. I suppose I should upload my progress...
